... and the guy who owns it is a pure GENIUS. I had the chance to see him perform today, and I was just amazed. I've NEVER ever heard someone play like this.. He played the Beethoven violin concerto. I'm not a violinist, I'm a pianist, but even -I- noticed how insanely beautiful it is.

Joshua Bell

There are a few samples of some of his performances.

And his violin - wowwwwwww. The sound was INCREDIBLE. The four million is sure worth it. Words can't describe what I experienced. But go check it out.. hopefully it will inspire you :)

Edit: oops, in the title, it was supposed to say $4 million

I changed the title for you happy.gif -- Madame C

I think Joshua Bell's playing sounds beautiful. Although I prefer the more modern style of Vanessa Mae, he would go under my favorites for today's musicians :D

by the way if you like to hear classicals like these, I suggest watching the Red Violin :D

I play in the All-State band and we perfrom with the All - State orchestra and we got to watch him perfrom once. It was amazing. I think 4 million was worth it. If you have a passion for something then go for it. My friend's violin was 750,000 dollars. Not as much as Bell's but still.

He sounds straight, but on the real 4 million isn't worth it for any musical instrument. ermm.gif

Ah, you wouldn't understand unless you've performed professionally in a big concert hall and all that.. mmm I want a concert now.. Anyway.

This one's worth it for sure.. It has a long history behind it. It was made in the 1700s, then somebody stole it, then it took years to be identified, and so on.. He didn't even have all of the money when he wanted to buy it - he made a loan (of two million though), because some guy who wasn't even a musician was going to buy it for two million just to put it in his room. So Bell saved the violin's life :)

There's a reason it was 4 million. Plus, as a musician I'm sure he didn't get ripped off. lol.
