Greetings everyone, I just got back from working out, and I'm bored, so I figured I'd start a topic about this CD I picked up last night.

Some of you may or may not know, John Mayer released his new CD "Continuum" on September 12th, and I was wondering if you guys listened to him and if you had any opinions on it.

In my opinion, it's a pretty solid album, and I'm enjoying his new style of Electric-guitar solos, in contrast to his Acoustic jams of earlier albums (which is odd, considering I'm an Acoustic Guitar player, and he is one of my major influences). I think his lyrics are typical of John Mayer-esque lyrics, and the vocals are pretty straight.

Anyway, just wondering if you guys had grabbed it and what you all thought.

Yea, Dreaming With A Broken Heart is great. I also enjoy Slow Dancing In A Burning Room. Like I said though, there's really not a single track on the CD that I don't enjoy.

Oddly enough, since you posted that, I really have started to enjoy "Heart Of Life". Good call, lol.

^Eh just edit your last post.

I use to love John Mayer. Listened to it all the time, then I lost all my music and didn't for a while. I still enjoy his music though. I have failed yet to get his new album though. I suppose I'll put that on my to do list.

I personally prefer his old style. *shrug* i've never liked jazz or blues that much.

I haven't been a particularly HUGE fan of John Mayer, but I think he's okay.

I probably won't go out and buy his new cd, but his new song's pretty good.

[random] He has the same birthday as me. [/random] _smile.gif

Wow guys, thanks for keeping this topic alive. I'm glad to see you guys are helping out on the reviews. Yea, there are a bunch of better songs then "Waiting for the World To Change". I love the Jazzy feel to this CD compared to his other ones, which is what it sounds like a lot of you all like too.

And 3x5 is a great song.

I haven't fully listened to Continuum, but Slow Dancing in a Burning Room always makes me teary-eyed. Hah.

Room for Squares will always be one of my favorite albums. It might've been more pop-ish, but it's still amazing. I went to one of his concerts a while back when he just released Room for Squares. I love how he pretty much started off his career here in Atlanta. throb.gif
