I PLAY CLARINETT! 1st Clarinet 'cause I'm awesome like that :)
And I play alto recorder.
And soprano saxophone.
And the acoustic and electric guitars. A little bass too.

For orchestra, I play Clarinet. We just started school, so I don't know if I'm playing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd this year..

French Horn
Flute
Clarinet
All of the Saxes

^I never liked the trumpet. I can play it but it makes my lips feel odd after a while. Which I don't like at all.

Seriously?? Are you in Wesleyan's band?

Anyway...there are multiple threads on this but I'm not a mod so whatever.
I play clarinet, this is my last year of high school/marching band, and all I can say at the moment is thank God for that, because it's not much fun this year.

http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=11904 ? :P

I was in my high school's jazz band and orchestra, but not marching/concert band. Ah, well, I was considered a band geek (and robotics nerd, but that's irrelevant), anyway.

Yeah. I play percussion. We have one of the best percussion sections of Toronto's high schools :) And, well, I play piano in our jazz band and drums when the guy finds it too hard..

I can't wait to start working on that new African piece we're getting (I forget the name).. it's INSANE for percussion! XD

That's all the way back from 04 so we can keep this. happy.gif Thanks, though.

No, I don't know any instruments. I wish I had that little bit of musical ability in me.

There definitely were more recent ones. I'd forgotten I'd even made that one (but then again, '04, so yeah). but again, I don't especially care.

I was probably the epitome of band geek in school, which I'm not necessarily proud of, but to be fair my ONLY accomplishments in middle/high school were band/music related, with the exception of the occasional academic award. *slacker*

I was in band all through middle/high school, I played the flute and into high school I played piccolo as well. I don't TECHNICALLY consider that two different instruments, because switching back and forth was almost seamless - fingerings are exactly the same and embouchure is basically the same for both. I really enjoyed playing flute, I practiced religiously, and I made All-State in Texas twice and once in Oklahoma. =]

I also played euph for brass choir one year just so I could say I really was doing EVERYTHING, but I'd rather not talk about that. >_>

I'm not playing in college, to the disappointment of most of my family, but my college should be starting up a music program soon..? If that's the case, I'll pick it up again. I miss it. _smile.gif

It's technically school-related, yes, but it doesn't have to apply only to school-aged musicians. shrug.gif If anyone feels like this should be moved, that's not a problem with me; I just don't see any reason why we shouldn't keep it here. It's more for discussion about the actual instruments than the class at school to me.

I actually just went to speak with the new band director here at the college, we should be having a concert band in the spring. That's exciting, I may be going in for an audition soon. _smile.gif

I'm not a member right now, but I played clarinet, bass guitar and a little trombone until my school killed the music program. I had been playing the clarinet since 4th grade, but haven't really been all that musically active lately.
