This is for a MySpace layout but a more general question. Can you have divs within divs? In an attempt to finishing coding a layout that involves image rollovers, I did exactly that. Except... the images involved in the rollovering (?) do not show up. I normally put all my images in a div and position it around but I googled tutorials/codes for image rollovers and it shows each image placed in a div.

Er, I'm not sure what you mean.. but in my last layout ( http://myspace.com/98121239), I placed two divs OVER another div (scrollbox over the image, the nav over the image).. and the navigation uses rollovers.. :\

I know you can put a div on top of another; you can use the z-index property. But what about having a large main div for the background images and divs within those div tags for the rollovers?
Maybe it's just the rollover script I'm using that is confusing me. ![]() |

![]() But anyway, uhmmm.. I don't think that you can create divs within divs (I just toyed with that layout and tried to move the navigation div into the main content div and removing the navigation div classes; the navigation didn't show up). |

Hmm. Where did you get your rollover script from? I fiddled around with the one loudsur13 submitted here but I'm having problems with it. If my rollovers are one next to the other, would I have to position each one (using top and left) as you did with your layout?

Hmm.. I had actually gotten the coding from a random site that I was browsing; it was originally span classes, but I changed it to div just.. 'cause I felt like it? >_>;

I discarded his script. I was having quite a few problems getting it to work. I always use width first and his started with height, I had left one part of the code out, so... yeah. That's what happens when you make stupid mistakes. >.<
Do you mind if I use your script or could you direct me to the website? Edit. Oh, it was a random site. =x |

Go ahead, and work off of the coding I used--it's not like I actually own it. ;]
