Okay so I've been up all night busting my vocal chords to death to finish this song. Its still not finished finished but I want some feedback to see what everyone thinks about it since I get none on my fan club. ANYWAY!! So this is my newest song called Listen Up. I did the track, the lyrics and the vocals all myself. And let me tell you that it was a lot of damn work.

i listened to most of it and i stopped because i was hoping the beat would change somewhere? maybe what i didn't listened to it did..? but i like it though, you sing good. the beat just gets old throughout the song yanno?

it breaks down after the second chorus and I also added a whole crap load of harmonies. but thanks at least you think I sound good :)

At the beginning, about midway through the verse, your voice is a little too quiet against the music, but that's a nit picking type thing.

i DO like how the chorus fades in over the end of the verse, that adds a neat little effect.

The thing that I really like about this is that it is a fun song, and definately danceable, but could also be slowed down and stripped for a different style, because even while your singing faster, the notes are distinct, and the enunciation is pretty good. And also, I like the tone of your voice in general, to me it sounds slightly deeper than other female voices i've heard singing this kind of song, and that works for me.

To be honest, this isnt the kind of music that i would necessarily buy, but that's just my taste. But, i could definately hear it on the radio while driving and be happy for a few minutes. Pretty solid track to me.

I've listened to a couple of your other songs on your website (i dont remember the titles of the top of my head so this isnt particularly helpful, sorry), and this one was definately the one i liked best.

so okay i am really really grateful for all of the wonderful feedback y'all gave. it gave me a huge confidence boost. I'm working on putting a package together to send to an a&r at columbia and I'm definately going to put this one in it. I've actually made a few improvements as per the above comments (mostly james)and I'm really excited about it. I was really scared i was gonna get more of a "ew this is you" reaction lol. I mean you actually spent a few minutes of your time listening for me. thats means a lot. so thanks so much. you guys have to understand i make my music to share and so when people enjoy it makes everything i work so hard for worthwile. YAY!!
