With name changes and new staff additions, etc., it'd really be much easier if there was a thread tracking the changes in a timeline fashion than of just an announcement. Dates would be convenient.

Please note that this is not a moderator performance or feedback thread. The purpose of this thread is to announce and track changes in moderator staff. Please visit the current Moderator Performance thread for that type of feedback.

She had SCHOOL, for starters. Her mom wanted her to be more than what Krista herself wanted to be. Some people actually do a lot of stuff outside here.

[shriek along the lines of monica from friends]

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[/courteney cox]

SEE, OK THIS IS WHY MONA SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO DO THINGS. EVER.

DO YOU HAVE NO SENSE OF PROPORTION? AT ALL? WHEN NICKI WAS SUSPENDED, SHE DID SOMETHING THAT ACTIUALLY IMPACTED THE COMMUNITY. AND NOW, KATHLEEN PUTS FRIENDSHIP BEFORE THE PROTECTION OF THE MODS BITCHING, AND SHE IS DEMODDED.

WHAT. THE. f**k?

AND FURTHERMORE, HOW MIND NUMBINGLY STUPID DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO INFORM SOMEONE OF WHAT THEIR PUNISHMENT IS BEFORE YOU HAVE EVEN DECIDED IT, AND THEN CHANGE IT WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT, 'OOPS! I ACTED BEFORE I KNEW WHAT I WAS DOING'?

SILLY, STUPID GIRL.

and spare me the bullshit about other peoples' influences in the decision making, i've read the pms. ok? now, get your useless ass into a position which DOESNT involve completely f**king up. thanks.

PERSONAL ATTACKS
Flaming, trolling, member bashing--you name it--will not be tolerated here. If you're making an argument it's always better to retort with reason and composure. Personal attacks are childish and have no place in these forums.

Consider this your verbal warning.

Any further blatant insults from you will result in a raised warn level, INCLUDING those you make in Anonymous Shoutouts (because let's face it, the majority of them are hardly anonymous anymore).

Despite what you or anyone else might think, everyone on staff is taking this very hard.

Current staff, if you disagree with this, by all means let me know.

Yes, but I chose not to care. And I honestly, if you (and Sammi, for that matter) think we're saying things about Mona based sheerly on this issue, you are completely off base.

And I'd like to think that there'd be more taking into consideration as to whether or not Kathleen could remain a mod than simply breaking a rule; there are plenty of people who do nothing blatantly wrong who are just shitty mods in general. Out of those two, who should remain? I'd say the one who actually mods well. And no, before you go there, I'm not merely saying this because I like Kathleen. She is genuinely a good moderator, hence that she used to be an admin. If a broken rule doesn't have any direct or major influence on anything, it should not be able to outbalance the positives.

*sigh* Actually, she's pretty well aware of the rule (she is a former staffer).

Also, many of the mods with activity issues have been either talked to or have stepped down.

As for "shitty mods", I think the opinion(s) are pretty subjective at this point.

Again, all we can do is our best: Try to be active, try to make good decisions and try to contribute what we can to cB.

Rachael, considering that the reason that NICKI is no longer on staff is for a very similar reason involving many of the same people, and also given that she is good friends with me, who knows EXACTLY the process which led to her being demoted, i wouldn't particularly question her knowledge of the subject.

and to answer holly's question, if there is no activity in blogger, there is no need for blogger staff, active or not (and look at hi sppd anyway). let the desing staff deal with it, and get rid of the staff you dont need

Yea but I don't think anyone on design staff knows a lot of about blogger staff? I may be wrong? I don't really know. I would know something about it but blogger doesn't work on my computer.

I think its fine to have ryan on staff, we have discussed about his ppd and stuff like that, but questions do go through blogger every now and again that need to be answered in which he does answer. And we do still recienve layouts for blogger.

Look guys, Kathleen not being on staff. I pretty positive she understood what she did and knew the consquences. I don't really know if that is true, but I don't think shes really being a sore loser for not being on staff anymore, atleast I haven't seen it. Yes, I know she may be a good mod, since she is a former admin and everything. Although people can change and with her formally being in those positions she would clearly know all the rules, so if she were to break one she knows whats going to happen if everyone finds out.

Saying that Mona is a bad mod because of people getting demoted isn't right at all either. Mona isn't the one that makes every little decision she has help from others at making the big decisions. I mean if Kathleen is upset about being demoted for what she did, then she needs to speak up.

Rachael - Just please people.... put some trust in us once in a while.

Honestly, at this rate. I don't think its going to happen. Things have happened in the past that have made people just turn their heads at us because they simply didn't agree. Look, its the internet. You don't know how people are reacting to things and everyones opinions are different, we can just consider everyones in to every decision it would be a waste of time and it would end up leading to some big argument. So trusting the mods decision to make the community better would be the best thing to do, but most people are controlling people and can't stand it.

well, it would be the best thing to do if we could garuntee 100% that they were doing it right. as we CANT do that, the BEST thing to do is to keep questioning them. that is glaringly obvious.

^actually, i think if we were to go with an 'all people being treated equally' approach, then the mos tlikely outcome would be more questioning of people lik ekathleen, not more trust in the mods overall.

but why on earth would i treat all the mods equally if they arent equally good at their jobs? benefit of the doubt only lasts so long before 'useless' is fair.

Uhh. I agree with everything else except the bolded. I can honestly say that I wouldn't have done the same thing in that position (due to the issue at hand). I would demote a moderator if they were blatantly spamming and abusing their powers and/or were inactive (in fact, I checked the admin CP everyday to see what moderators were actually performing moderator actions). Note Nicki's post:

Radhika, you were one of my top choices this last hiring session. It's too bad that you didn't have time for it.. Let's hope next time when things calm down you can apply and join us again. _smile.gif

Radhika...
Although I don't know you well,
you seemed to do a great job while you were still on staff (I wans't too active then so I'm in no place to judge).
Hope everything is fine for you. :)

Hey Radhika -

I hope you find more time in the future as well. It's hard to make decisions like these and you were mature enough to know and honest enough to step down when you knew you couldn't juggle everything. :)

Good luck with school and I look forward to (hopefully) seeing you back on staff one day if you should choose to reapply. :)

Thanks, guys. Aaah, I'm fucking swamped with homework right now, f'real. pinch.gif I shouldn't even be on. Oh well, the library is open early tomorrow, and I'm taking advantage. To top it all off, I have a MUN position paper due Fri, tech rehersals everyday this week, the opening night of a play on Fri, and an information night from a school I'm applying to on Thurs.

Yeah, it's not exactly easy to work in cB on those circumstances. *prays even though i'm an atheist*

So, I just read the entire topic and wow, THIS IS THE INTERNET PEOPLE. It's like some of you have got no lives whatsoever. As much as I love Kathleen, she did break a rule, get over it. Most of you are taking it WAY too serious than Kathleen herself.

I honestly do not know your (James) history with Mona but calling her useless is a little extreme.

I'm late, I know. Having a life sucks sometimes.

sevearl points to address here:

1) What constitues having no life more: a) participating in a topic as it happens, or b) sitting and readin git all solely to make snide remarks

2) Kathleen breaking a rule is FAR from the whole story, so dont mess without the facts

3) mona IS useless. and has proven herself so repeatedly, so it may or may no tbe extreme, but regardless it is simple truth

4) get over yourself sandra, you tedious little creature

Don't be asinine. Your puerile remarks aren't accomplishing anything, especially so long after the topic was last relevant, and there's really got to be more to life than getting laid, so once again I'm not too sure you have any right to judge whether or not someone "has a life."

And what are you contributing exactly? Besides reviving drama that was sufficently dead ages ago. In what way do two people make a bunch? And of course, what sort of insult is calling someone a "no-lifer"?

Sorry Jackie, I can let things go so long as they aren't funny, but Sandra is humourously pathetic.
