personal question:

my ex and i reccently broke up over the summer, but we promised to still be friends, which we are, sort of.

so my question is: do i give him presents for christmas, birthdays, etc? or do i just.... leave it be. cause we kinda talk, but not a lot. so i'm pretty confused about our situation here. ermm.gif

i think that for christmas, if you guys still talk occasionally, then yeah i would get him a present. something VERY VERY simple though. as for birthdays, if you aren't invited to a party or some sort of celebration, no. because if you get him a birthday gift without an invite, it sort of shows that you actually THINK about him, you know?

A greeting would be fine. If you do plan to get him a present though, make it simple and non-girlfriend like.

If you want to give him a gift then give him a gift its completely up to you, Do you usually give your friends gifts? Since your at that status now I suppose you would treat him the same as any friend?

simply put, ur not obligated to get ur former significant other any gifts. but it'd be a nice gesture to show that what's past is past, and u'd just like to move on.

lol wow.. same thing with me, except it was last summer. i was in the same boat when his birthday came around.. which was in november. at first i was gonna get him something small, or a card.. or something big, or just say happy birthday or do nothing at all, but i ended getting him something big ;x.. and seeing him was awkward at first because even though we were supposed to stay friends, we stopped really talking to each other. but at the end of the night, he gave me a hug and told me he appreciated it. it was so hard to deal with, but things are better now. and i didn't give him anything for christmas. i don't know what i'm gonna do this year.. he didn't get me anything for my birthday, but i don't know~ pinch.gif .
