What do you think the future's going to be like? Robots? Computers? Flying cars? Neverending war? Another worldwide plague leaving the world scarcely populated? Finally peace?

I'll keep my answer short and simple-- I say, it's not going to get any better, only worse... much, much worse. There's going to be even more disease because we're going to be overpopulated. All of the world's problems are going to be 100 times worse.

...and that's IF we don't all kill eachother in war, which I think will be happening in our lifetime, or our children's lifetime.

What do you think?

I definitely think the future is going to be worse in general, but very advanced in technology. Robots, yes. Computers, maybe; I'm sure some genius will outdo the computer with his/her invention. War, definitely. Politics and religion being added into the mix.

If mankind isn't ended by nuclear weapons and such, I do believe that humanity will implode and the structure of society will just collapse. I don't believe this will happen in my lifetime, but we're getting there. People are inexplicably and unbelievably stupid, and it makes me lose hope in humanity and die a little inside.

I have to say that I think the future will be getting continually worse.

Yes, it's negative, but it's truthfully where I think our world is heading.

there will be no more trees, people will type everything on tiny computers, and email everything so there will be no need for paper.
i bet something like that will happen, cuz trees can't last forever the way we're using them.. sad.gif

^ I'm pretty sure there will be trees in the future; there are way too many effects to list if there weren't..

We will migrate to another planet, be mutated, evolution, explore chemistry, power, medicene, and all that ;]

there's a possibility that everyone can be cured from aids and certain diseases at another planet.

"Daddy, Daddy, how does the government work?"
"Ok son, lets say I'm the President and the Cabinet, the nanny is the working class, mommy is the parliament and the officials, you are the people and your baby brother is the future. Do you get it now?"
"Um............ yes, daddy."

Later that night, the little boy cant sleep, so he went to his nanny rooms and tried opening it. It was locked, however. From the keyhole, he saw daddy have s*x with the nanny. He wanted to go back and tell mommy but she was fast asleep. Seeing he have no one to tell this to, he went to his little brother and realised the baby was crying and pooped in his diaper.

The next day:

"Son, do you get how the government works right now?"
"Yes daddy. The cabinet and the president screws the working class, the parliament and the officials dont care, the people is ignored and the future is full of sh*t!"

Now that's quite impossible. What planet can we move to? We'd have to either travel a very long distance or build a huge bubble on the moon or Mars or whatever that simulates gravity and Earth-like conditions and protects us from CMEs and solar wind and UVC.

Who knows? The environment might get better in the future, since scientists are trying to create an alternative to fuel and gas and yeahh. And there are cars that can run on water, but those are really expensive.

Technology will definitely expand. Maybe one day, personal nanofactories will be available and we can build laptops with them that use less electricity and has more memory and RAM.

Robots, definitely. ASIMO has been a big breakthrough by Honda.
I'm not too sure about hovering cars though.

And maybe we'll find aliens in a galaxy, at the rate exploration is going..

Then, someone will build an atmosphere field/shield to protect us.
Maybe, we can live underground and use solar energy.

Use a robots to built a bubble on planet?
I think its quite possible to live on another planet. It's a matter of advanced technology.

Knowledge is power, right? sad.gif

Yeah, knowlege is power I guess..

What planet do you suggest we move to then?
You can't just pick any planet to live on..

Mars, I believe. Mars had better human resources than moon.

We can’t go to any farther planet yet. We’re lacking technology.

How does Mars have better resource?
Sure, it was like Earth in the past, but it's a dead planet now..

It would be a pretty good idea though..

Maybe when I grow up, instead of being a spectroscopist, I can work on building a bubble on Mars! biggrin.gif

Mars have water, gravity greater than moon, resourceful, and have suitable atmosphere. These are essential to us.

Moon ... eh, gravity is low, no water, resourceless, o___O ... no suitable atmosphere.

I don't remember a lot of information about mars and moon. All i know that mars is better than moon.

Sorry, i have no proof. I just know. LOL.

Well first of all, Mars had water. It was like Earth in the past.
And the atmosphere is 95% CO2.. Only trace amounts of oxygen.
It's really too cold to support life. It can get as low as -220 F and only as high as 68 F.

But if we succeed in building a bubble on Mars with oxygen and a stable temperature, humans could probably live on Mars.

And yes, Mars is better in the moon. In some ways.

On the subject of people living on the moon/Mars, the moon would be colonized before Mars: http://www.nasa.gov/vision/universe/solars..._moonfirst.html

I went to a NASA presentation on it about six years ago, but I can't say I remember much other than them explaining how the moon colonies would work.

But people are planting trees while others cut them down. I guessmore get cut down than planted, but trees in parks and places like that are going to be protected.

Anyway, the future could go both ways. It could slowly get worse and worse like many people have already said.

Or someone could finally get everyone to come to their senses. I don't know how, but I have hope that someone's going to stop the wars, the greed and everything. Maybe not all at once, but countries could improve one by one.

About the bubble on the planet thing.. That's ognna be friggin dangerous. What if the bubble breaks, or theres a tiny leak somewhere? Terrorists would easily kill thousands or millions of people just by finding a way to break the bubble. Sure, we could use an indestructible material, but all material is destructible somehow.

We can have laser sensors. Or like one of those virtual wall things in sci-fi movies..
Or space patrol. Space patrol could work. Like zap the terrorists before thet even get to out planet!

Don't worry. I'll find some way to make life on another planet in a bubble safe biggrin.gif

Oh okay, we can still live on mars with solar energy to produce water.

plants will do. we can expand colony.

Use solar energy to produce heat and transfer it to underground. We can have different lifestyle.

Yep. It’s a matter of lifestyle satisfaction.

btw, i dont think we need too much resource from earth to moon. i have think solar energy is a basic foundation. light is the source of life.
