When all the odds are against something you believe in, do you quit because you have no chance, or do you continue to attempt to make a difference? This isn't limited to personal situations. Examples:

Running for a political race when you know your party would never make it.

Voting in an election when you know your one vote won't change things.

Standing against a group of people who violently disagree with your opinions.

Going to a school board and complaining about an issue when you know as a young kid yourself, it won't make a difference.

Things like that. Where should you draw the line and give up, or do you always stand up for what you believe in, even if you know it's pointless?

I always stand by my thoughts since most of my opinions are well-founded and I think very strongly about them. It would be difficult to make me waver or not stand up for them just because the majority doesn't agree with me.

"Nothing ventured, nothing gained"; what is there to lose? If you believe in something, shouldn't you at least try?

The latter choice for me, thanks.

I'm not great at actiing on things, but I definitely stand by my beliefs. Recently I've become more inclined to adamantly argue with anything I disagree with strongly, rather than to just sit by and shut up as I usually would have.

I ran for student council president against one of the most popular girls in my school and won by one vote; that, I definitely did not expect - expect the unexpected? Eh, you never know what can happen. (=

umm at a certain point ....if the odds are against me ....and if i guess i wasted my whole lifetime purusing my needs .....i think i might have gotten it wrong ...so as the saying goes "if you can`t beat`em ....join`em" . itll destroy my ignorance.
