My computer crashed early this summer, and now I can't update my ipod! Is there any type of program that can let you send songs from your ipod to your computer? And, is there anyway I can reset my itunes or ipod so I can send songs to my ipod again?

Erm. What do you mean by not update your iPod? Does your computer not recognize it?
If iTunes isn't working, reinstall it. If that doesn't work.. download Winamp. Winamp is WAY better than iTunes. iTunes has bugs and glitches, which Winamp doesn't have. So download Winamp and this plugin, so you can use it as a replacement for iTunes. Well, only if iTunes doesn't work after you reinstall it.. Or if you don't want to use iTunes anymore. |

Well, I think my computer recognizes it... but it says that my ipod/itunes was already registered to another computer or something like that... I don't know. Does that mean it recognizes it?

Yeah, it does recognize it.
I never registered my iPod (shame on me!), so I don't know.. Does it have the thing where you have to reset your iPod's name or something? Oh, and what else does it say? What do the buttons say? |

I think it says that, I'm not sure. The last time I plugged my ipod in was a while ago, but I think that if you clicked yes, your songs would get deleted. I'm not sure, but that's what I've heard.

WAIT. You're talking about putting songs from your iPod to computer?? God, I am so blind.. http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/...pod-to-computer You'll still have to use iTunes. Umm. I'm not sure about the whole deleting the songs thing 'cause your iTunes library is currently empty or doesn't have the same songs as on your iPod right? So that's too risky.. |

Actually, my library on itunes has about the same amount of songs as it does on my ipod, and it does has some of the same songs on my ipod, that's why I don't want to try anything too risky. I have actually tried that website, but I don't want to buy the program

Don't get Winamp just yet.
http://www.engadget.com/2004/11/02/how-to-...-off-your-ipod/ That's a pretty useful site, and the software is free. |

Okay, well engadget worked for me, but I was wondering if the Winamp plugin enables you to send songs from your comptuer to the ipod.

Yes it does. That's what the plugin is for.

Okay, I got the plugin for Winamp, but I can't figure out how to send the music to my ipod. I noticed the reviews and I'm now unsure if I should do it or not. I was also wondering if it might be better to use the iPod updater (itunes now doesn't recognize my ipod). I'm a very cautious person.

Did you put your iTunes library into Winamp yet?
http://www.joerobot.com/mlipodwiki/index.php?title=FAQ That one's useful.. I think you can drag and drop if your computer recognizes your iPod. If your computer doesn't, there's something wrong. |

Hey, it's not that hard if you've used it for a while. I've been using iPods for almost 2 years now.. And sometimes iTunes is horrible. |
