I'm currently reading "Founding Brothers" for my AP US history class. I don't reccomend it unless you adore US History... Its detailed...

I'd suggest Uncle Tom's Cabin, if you're looking for fiction. You could read Thomas Paine's Common Sense as well.

America by john stuart is pretty funny. So is Dude Where's my Country by Michael Moore.
I'll send you my ap textbook. I wouldn't advise reading it though, it's making me want to shoot my brains out. |

no, sorry history suckssssss. worst subject EVER. Are you serious? History is amazing! Or atleast Western Civ and Ancient & Midevel history. Depending on what kind of history you are looking for. It you want ancient civilizations I would recomment the book World Cultures. I don't know the author right at this very moment. |

No it's American History by Prentice Hall. Ah, I was just wondering because Justin had the same book last year. Maybe it's s southern thing *shrug* not only that, but it was also one of th ebooks slagged off by your summer reading as part of the SAME COURSE, a fact which gives me a headache I know. It was really funny. This year they're all required to read Lies rather than have other choices, which is even more ridiculous. |

Well to be fair, it's not really entirely their fault. There's some committee for the county who chooses the textbooks, I think, and apparently the ones on social studies know nothing of US history and go for whichever book sounds best financially (or something like that..I cna't remember the whole explanation).
