Nope. Because there are so many resolutions out there. Your image should atleast be 800x600 that will show up small for most people. But if all you want is a centered little layout, make it atleast that size. To fit majority of the resolutions out there, you should make it 1024x768. The only time it won't fit full screen is if someone's resolution is higher than that. You don't have to make it those exact px, but close. Because it might generate a scrollbar, whcih you might not want. Due to the different resolution sizes, your layout will never fit fullscreen for everybody but it should fit most people if you make it around 1024x768. Since that is the most common one? I think I read that somewhere.

hahha But google is google they have rich Hi-tech people that are coding experts. We are myspace users .. But if your layout is really plain and stuff you don't have to worry about it. Plus google isn't a design that needs a background. Its plain white w/ a header + search bar. Even though I bet that is hard/was hard and complicated.

But yea, google is google. Made by experts. Myspace is myspace ..
See if you made pattern backgrounds, it can fit for all resolutions.
Plain ones too.
Ones that you want positioned and stuff.. maybe maybe not.
