Ok, first things first. What the hell does CSS stand for and what is it?! If I find out what it is, maybe then I will have an idea of how to use DIV layouts on myspace. There is a particular DIV layout that I really like. It is a layout created by digital.fragrance and it's called I was FROZEN in time.... Now, I have no idea how I keep all my info within this one layout. Things seem to remain on the site at the bottom - such as comments etc and it looks pants. I joined up to Xanga and it is much easier and straight forward to have this DIV layout on my Xanga profile rather than on Myspace. I have asked the person who created this DIV layout (Rachael) if it is possible for me to transfer it from Xanga to Myspace and she said,

"Yeah there is a way - the CSS (???) coding is different... you'd have to use some of the stylesheets (?) that createblog supplies and change the colors and so forth.

Also, xanga coding is harder than myspace when it comes to div overlays - the margins (?) are different, and so forth."

Can anyone help me in doing this? It doesn't have to be with this layout. Any will do, I just want to know how to do it. If someone can, please make it INCREDIBLY clear for me, an uneducated myspace website designer wannabe... mellow.gif

And what is CSS?!

Thanks guys wink.gif biggrin.gif

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a simple mechanism for adding style (e.g. fonts, colors, spacing) to Web documents.

Anyway have you looked at the tutorial for making divs?
theres two.

Thank you - I can now sleep easy knowing that...! ;o)

Yeah, I've looked at those two tutorials. But they appear to only be if you are starting from scratch. Like putting your own images in and stuff. I want a pre-made div layout if possible.

Moved to xanga help then.

Um thats alot of work, you would be WAY better off starting from scratch and making your own.

most people make their own or steal them from other websites they see.

You can ask people who own the copyright if you can use their image(s)

You can also find images to use for free at sites that provide stock images. There's a list in the Big Book of Resources. :)

Thanks so much for your help guys :o)

The thing is with making my own image, I don't really have the facilities to do so - like paint shop pro or summit like that. I assume that is what I'd need if I were to make my own image etc?

Thanks again

Oh my life!! Everything seems so complicated! I don't know where to start! All I wanted was a simple DIV layout for my myspace profile. Was that too much to ask for?

;p
