Running With Scissors
QUOTE
Young Augusten Burroughs (Cross) absorbs experiences that could make for a shocking memoir: the son of an alcoholic father (Baldwin) and an unstable mother (Bening), he's handed off to his mother's therapist, Dr. Finch (Cox), and spends his adolescent years as a member of Finch's bizarre extended family

who else is excited by this movie?
It has a pretty impressive cast as well.

It looks ok. Not as excited about it as some other movies, but I'll probably try to see it. Maybe.

Movies rarely if ever live up to the novels; Augusten Burroughs is one of my favorite authors--I hope they don't butcher it. I personally don't feel Running With Scissors was his best, nor his funniest.

I read the book, I find it a little odd it would be turned in to a movie though. I don't exactly like it when people turn books into movies. Usually the movies are pretty bad.

I suppose I'll go see it and see how it is and such.

I'll see it, for sure. But probably I'll more than likely NetFlix it. It is a wonderful cast and the acting should be pretty good (to say the least).

Man and is it me, or is Annette Bening starting to look really old?

Well, I'm excited for this. Ryan Murphy is.. well. I heart him. throb.gif I doubt he'll let me Burroughs down. _smile.gif And as I stated in the other thread, I gather that Murphy loves dysfunctional families. laugh.gif Maybe that's why I love him so much. mellow.gif

I remember seeing the book, I never read it though. Maybe they're running out of ideas for movies. I've never been a huge fan of them turning books into movies, but The Notebook in my opinion was better than the book. -shrug- maybe it will be good. Anyone see it?

I'm not seeing it yet because I dont wanna go with my mom and her bf to a movie that's rated R with hella messed up stuff because they KNOW I read it. I will get the DVD later though, or go alone with my friends (crossfingahss). It looks okayish. The book was good to read though. I hope this movie turns out better than I expect.
