cheap birthday present ideas, please

my friend's birthday party is this sunday. i don't really hang out with her a lot so i'm not going to spend too much. maybe not more than 10 dollars? (i'm broke and my mom doesn't want me spending too much because i've bought like three other people gifts). right, so any ideas that are... thoughtful?

i have decided that gift cards seem like i'm spending too little because they know the actual value. no cheap jewelry because i have no clue what she likes. no chocolate because i've given like two other people that and she was there for it too. no lotion/fragrances because she might take it as "oh you smell like a foot so here's some _____ to cover it up."

ideas?!

Umm.. maybe a book that reminds you of her? I have no idea. >>; I don't do presents for people I'm not extremely close to.

Most people will say a scrapbook, or a nice sentimental card. A scrapbook would be nice, if you had any pictures with her since you say you don't hang out with her much. Fit in as many funny moments and inside jokes that you remember and embellish it so it seems nicer than it really is.

Depending on her size you can go to trendy stores at your mall and go to the sale section and get 1 or 2 or maybe even 3 shirts in her size, for really cheap. Or a shirt and a skirt to match, since most stores have sale racks that can go as low as 97 cents. ( Or at least peopel tell me they've bought great jeans from Gap's clearance for that much ) but they usually never have plus size clothing for fat people like me because the world hates fat people ): Lol.

...if it was a friend I really don't know and chill with, I'd give her a buck. Imagine all the things you can do with a dollar. McDonalds, Mcvalue menu, 99 cents store you can go crazy in there. or maybe some gum, and 25 cent candy? Budget right there.

^ why would i have pictures of her if i don't hang out with her? candid photos of her in her bathroom?!

actually, i was going to buy one of those photo albums and take pictures at the party so she could put it there but i'm no tsure how many pictures i'll get.

and i don't know her size or what kind of clothes she likes.

maybe i'm looking more on the general side

If you don't even hang out with her, why are you buying her a girft and going to her party?

Anyway, make a blank scrapbook with some construction paper, scissors, glue and stickers, and take pictures of her at her party. If you don't have a camera, get a cheap disposable one. Take lots of pics of her and then give her the pictures to put in her scrapbook when they're developed.

Why dont you make a Picture frame or buy a real cheap and simple frame and spice it up!.. put a pic of you and your friend.. it would be an awesome gift !

I don't think a gift card would show how little that is, just get a gift card to somewhere relativelycheap, like Claire's.

You can get her a $10 gift certificate to her favorite store or use the ten bucks to purchase some scrapbooking materials and make her a scrapbook, or just buy her flip flops! 2/$5 at Old Navy's.

$10 gift card to Starbucks. You could get 2-3 drinks with that much money. Most people like Starbucks too. I'd be happy if I got one of those on my b-day. How could you go wrong with that? Plus, their gift cards look cool.

Well, I'm sure you must have some idea of what she likes, even though you don't hang out with her often. If I were you, I would probably just buy several cheap items, such as a cute pair of socks (you would not need to know her exact feet size for this), a bracelet or necklace (just guess at what she may like, based on her style of clothing), and maybe some nail polish/lip gloss, and some candy, and then cutely wrap up all of the items.

I was going to say make her a card, but i guess not. ^baked stuf is always good. And maybe you could get her like a basket of random stuff, like food and lotions? She probably wouldn't think you thought she smells.
