Paint Shop Pro isn't so bad. I had a 30-day trial version and it is a good cheaper alternative to Photoshop, even if it doesn't have most the powerful rendering tools and options found on PS CS.

But I prefer PS for th eoptions, the intergration of ImageReady, GoLive, and most Macromedia products.

I would prefer Photoshop. I used Paint Shop Pro when I first started and then moved to Photoshop. Paint Shop Pro isn't bad at all, it is very similar to Photoshop but to me, Photoshop is a lot better.

photoshop is what is used in more professional environments as opposed to psp... i`ve been using psp ever since i began doing this stuff 5 years ago and i`ve never turned my back on it, haha.... but lately, i`ve been depending on illustrator for my design needs, which is similar to ps, so i dunno o_O.... but between those two? my heart will always belong to psp.. how cheezy.

i used PSP before when i just started out. but now i use PS and it`s way better if you wanna actually learn creative things. when i used PSP there were brushes that are already made for you and you download them and what do you create in that? people have similar things if they use PSP. well usually.

photoshop is definitely the best editing graphic editor out there. unfortunally, it's very complicated to use.......i can't do anything with it unless there's a step by step instruction on how to do something. i'm more comfortable with macromedia fireworks...getting the simple projects finished easily.

I prefer Paint Shop Pro.

I got Adobe Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro in Vietnam, its cheap there. One U.S dollar is about 15,000 D there. ^^ You can buy a few tins of candy, a haircut, or something equal to that with a dollar there. ^^

I like Paint Shop Pro, because it's pretty easy to use and you can find what color code things are and you can also undo as many times as you want. You can't on Photoshop, at least on version 5.0 you can't. I have Photoshop 7.0, but my computer is Windows 1998, and you need Windows 2000 or higher to install it. _dry.gif

Lol, it's spelled professional.

I've started out using PSP and Animation Shop, and they're really easy to work with. happy.gif

Recently, I got photoshop. It's somewhat harder to work with, but the filters and effects are so much better. _smile.gif

I was without Photoshop for a while when my license expired, and I started using an old version of Macromedia Fireworks, and I actually prefer that to Photoshop, at least for making the kinds of layouts that I do.

For editing photos though, Photoshop definitely wins.

I have PSP but I've always liked Photoshop a lot better because of the things it can do.

Adobe Photoshop 7 is the program I began with and still have. I heard of Paint Shop Pro, but never looked into it.

Well I have paint shop pro because when you actually get the real thing and not the demo its pretty awesome. My parents are professional web designers and I have just been used to dealing with paint shop pro because of them...thats my preference.

I own both and I like Photoshop a lot better. When I first wanted to get into the design scene I went out and bought PSP, but I couldn't really figure out how to use it. I then heard Photoshop was where it was at, so I downloaded it and have been using it ever since.
