Plastic costs less to produce, maybe? I don't know.

I remember the time I was in Japan, though. They sold soft drinks in glass bottles, the ones with the marbles that you have to push through the lid to break the seal. When you were finished, you'd give it back to the store and they would wash them and reseal them for future use.

I thought that was pretty cool.

Because technology is less expensive and more efficient than human workers.

You know, basic concept of the industrial revolution a few hundred years ago and all.

I don't know about you, but I'd rather carry around a plastic bottle of Coke on a hot day than a heavy glass bottle. Yes, it'd be prettier, but in this case, convenience overpowers the overall appearance.

America is lazy and doesn't want to take the time to pop the cap...

I don't know.

Glass is better - it keeps the quality of the pop great! And really cold!

Back in the old days, glass bottle wasnt cool. Plastic bottle became a new invention and trendy.

less risky, safe, easy to drink, and helpful.

lol Yanners lives in a different country in Asia (I think.. look at where she's from it says Taipei _smile.gif) so she probably knows what she's talking about

When I lived in the Philippines, they sold coke in plastic bottles in convinience stores. But there were small variety stores owned by a family and sold the cokes in glass bottles
