Ok so im taking geometry online and im rather good at it and BOOM i get to these two suckers that have been driving me CRAZY. The point is i cant solve them so im looking in the Resources but i cant really find anything in SPECIFIC to solve my problems... i hate this...

Problem 1.
a. If BC= 2x + 1, CD=3x - 4 and BD=22, find the value of x.
b. Use the value of x, to find BC and CD.

Problem 2.
a. If AB=5y - 4, BD=7y + 3 and AD=20y - 9, find the value of y.
b. Use the value of y, to find AB, BD and AD.

I need HELP not the answers. Just like a walk through of why im not getting how to put the points together and add. stubborn.gif

^*nods* I was about to ask if these are right triangles. I'm assuming so.

But yes, Pythagorean Theorem should help.

OOOH ^ Pythagorean Theorum what Salcha said, usually its A^2 + B^2= C^2 but when your given a problem where 2 of your given sides all ready have Values then you put that value ^2 = the other 2 values ^2
Im assuming this is PYTHAGORAN THEORUM..I may be wrong though

//Edit ahhhh Dani already beat me to the name cry.gif haha KULOS
