Ok guys. One of my best friends named Mondo doesn't like me anymore because I've gotten to know this kid named Aaron. I hate this. Just because I try to be friends with everyone, I lose one of my close friends. It's like that with adults too. They think because you're associated with one group that you're just as bad. It really is unfair and immature. Grr. That happened to me a while back. This has really been getting me down cause Aaron's cool but Mondo doesn't like him for some reason. I guess people aren't allowed to actually be nice to everyone anymore. And for the record, I hardly ever talk to Aaron but Mondo doesn't believe me. Any suggestions? Have you ever been in this situation? I'd love to hear some stories. I think I'm gonna call Mondo and talk to him more about it.
Oh, and this might belong in Relationships. I wasn't sure. Move it if you must.  I'd rather it be in here so I can get some help but it's cool.Edit// Geez, views but no replies? Come on, I need help! haha. I'm so confused.

i hate situations like these.
 i would just confront Mondo about this entire thing and listen to Mondo`s reasons on why he does not like Aaron. Mondo should atleast get to know Aaron before judging.

I had that problem like while back. Well not exactly, but yeah.. This Mondo dude, he shouldn't be saying hes not your friend anymore just because you made a new friend who he doesn't like. If he really was your friend he would at least TRY to pretend to like Aaron.

I say: Leave the one who makes you choose!
 If your friends are really your "buddy-buddy" pals, then they'd still be coo with you... If Aaron or Mondo can't accept that you're just a "coo & friendly fellow," then don't kick it with 'whoever' as much. It's a bad influence on you if ya ask me. |

Thanks for the advice. I really, really appriciate it.
I decided to call Mondo tonight and see what's up. I'm tired of it all. It really is immature and unfair to judge someone just because they're friends with someone you may not like. It reflects bad upon the person who judges. It shows how shallow they can be. I guess I'll tell him that. Plus, Mondo hasn't really explained to me why he doesn't like Aaron. Either Aaron did something or he doesn't even have a reason. |

Sounds to me like a bad gay drama.
Some people just don't like other people. But Mondo just seems clingy and overly jealous. He probably feels as if you were creating a new friendship/relationship with Aaron, and you're ditching him. |

I've been in this situation before.
He's definately jealous. But it's not like a gay lover jealous thing -__- Perhaps he thinks that you're spending too much time with Aaron and not enough time with him. Or he might be thinking that he's losing you as a friend. I told the girl who got mad at me to deal with it or go away. I wasn't going to sacrifice myself to fit her likings. |

Have a good long talk with Mondo - convince him/make sure you let him know that you treasure the friendship between you and him, that you would never do anything bad to him. Tell him that you're/he's still his/your friend, etc. It's not really his position to choose who you're friends with, but I can understand how he can be unhappy about it.
Listen to his reasoning though, ask him to atleast stop being moody to you about it. I dont' think he should be mad at you, but only at Aaron if he has a bad history only with him. |

Oh God...so much I could say... but I won't.
Just tell Mondo to stop being so ridiculous about all this and just accept the fact that he's not ur only friend. I can't tell you how many times this has happened to me, and with the SAME PERSON who I didn't even want to be friends with. God this kind of thing is like my biggest pet peeve. grrr!

I tried to think outside the box to see if it may be somethign else... here's what I thought of... Look, I know that I pick and choose the crowds that I hang out with, becuase I don't want to be influenced to do the things that the wrong crowds do. I always say this to people, "You hang out with shit-heads, you will become a shit-head; but if you hang with good people, you will gain the qualities of good people." It's possible that your friends aren't leaving you, but rather not hanging out with because they see you hanging out with people that they don't want to be influenced by. The adults are probably looking down on you because they think that you may be turning into soemoen who will cause trouble or become associated with a bad crowd. When you hang out with someone you begin to inherit some of their traits and quilities. Did you ever notice how people who do drugs hang out with people who do drugs. Also, did you ever notice how when someone new starts hanging out with someone who does drugs they eventually either start trying drugs themselves or start hanging out less with the person who is doing those drugs. You can't hang out with someone who has negative potent negative qualities without subejecting yourself to change. No matter how strong you are you will either make the choice to hang out with that person less or start trying some of the things that they are doing. There is one thing you can do tho... you can influence them to do the right thing, but it's difficult... people can't change unless they either want to or it's subconcious. |

it's so immature. just because you want to be someone's friend the old someone gets pissed off. but i'm starting to think, if the new person is better ditch the old person because they are lame for even being mad. I mean seriously anyone is allowed to however many friends they deserve. |
