Is it true that:
Its ok to add mayonnaise, actual matonnaise to your hair? Its suppose to add shine or something... ermm.gif

& is it also true that:
Adding egg to your hair. (cracking the egg into a cup, stiring it up, and pooring it on top of your head, and letting it sit there for a little bit) Helps add protein to your hair, and also gives it shine?

Some people actually tried it. So don't think I'm coming outta the sky with these weird theories. I just wanted to see if anyone else has tried it, and how everything went.

i've heard about that too. i heard that avril lavigne puts mayo in her hair, lol. so if that's true then i guess it works for her because her is shiny sometimes.. lol.

not sure about the egg thing? i heard about that too, though.

why not just purchasing hair shine products instead of putting food in your hair? i use a hair shine product, works fine for me, gets it soft, too. _smile.gif

My mom tried the mayonnaise thing before, it worked out pretty well.

S'just that, when you use any kind of "food products" in your hair I guess, make sure you use some good-scented shampoo or conditioner to get the smell out. wink.gif

egg works bc it has protein.
if you mix honey with your condish it's makes it pretty esp. for curly hair.

All of those ideas are so out of the ordinary... I have not a clue if they work...

Something that also works is getting a thick conditioner (i forget the exact name at the moment.. brain fart) The brand I use is Garniar Fructis, they make like a 2-3 minute conditioner leave in thing, u aply it at the scalp, (using a long amount, who cares if you hair gets greasy because you will wash it out after its done sitting) I like to leave it in for 5-8 minutes, the longer you leave it in the more your hair absorbs it, (oh i forgot to mention you apply it in dry hair) after your done, hop in the shower, shampoo && CONDITION; basically your normal routine and your done!!!

also I think pantene makes one like that too, pantene pro-v smells very good, but they use silicone aswell, so it only temperarily makes it better.

My sister is a cosmetologist (sp?) and recommended it.

i dont get how egg would add protein in your hair. i see how it would make your hair shiny, but how do you add protein to something? just eat the eggs and that'll make your hair stronger too.

im pretty sure the mayo thing is true. i don't see why you'd wanna do it though.

I've heard that, but I'm not sure if it's true. I've also heard that if you put beer in your hair it will make your hair shiner.

hahahaha!! i have tried the mayo thing..
but it wasn't to make my hair shiny..
it was for lice
hahaha!!

my uncle and aunt told me that mayo held the lice in place
and that gave them an easier way of picking them off of my head! hahaha!
