Has anyone here ever went out late at night with a group of friends to search for ghosts? Do any of you have true ghost stories or experiences that has happened to you? I would like to know because a few of my friends and I are going to an abandoned insane asylum/mental hospital tonight and afterwards a famous bridge here in Los Angeles called "Suicide Bridge". Here's some information about the two..

Hollydale - Metal Hospital - In Pasadena behind the court house there is an abandoned metal hospital, but for some reason there is light shining through, when all the power has been shut off for years now. When you pass by, you see one curtain closed but then there is also one curtain that will close when you pass by. There has been people who have gone inside and gone down stairs, when they went down stairs it was pitch dark, and suddenly books where being thrown at everyone there. People have reported hearing voices, seeing orbs, and feelings of anger and feel very unwelcome. Doors have been reported to move on their own. Woman rumored to have killed herself unable to handle the voices after being at the asylum.

Colorado Bridge aka "Suicide Bridge" - A murder has occurred there, if you look carefully you can see a woman and her husband either dancing or fighting. Also at the front yard a girl has been seen about the age of 2 or 3 running around with a doll in her hand. Constructed in 1913, the 150 ft. high structure crosses the dry Arroyo Seco riverbed. Rumor has it that a construction worker toppled over the side of the bridge and plunged headfirst into a vat of wet concrete below. Assuming he could not be saved, workers left his body in the quick-drying mix to die. Allegedly his soul cries out for other desperate beings. This may explain why the bridge became a hot spot of sorts during the Depression when 95 people jumped to their deaths from 1919 to 1937. One of the most famous suicide attempts occurred on May 1, 1937, when a despondent mother threw her little baby girl over the railing and then jumped over herself. The mother died, but miraculously, the little girl survived the plunge. Her mother had inadvertently tossed her into some nearby trees, and she was later recovered from the thick branches.

If all the ghost hunters are as hot as Jensen Ackles and Jared Jared Padalecki then I'm sure I'd probably do it more.

But no, I don't do the whole ghost hunting thing.

And why are you exactly going?

I used to go a lot around here (Pittsburgh) a few years ago with my friends. Those are interesting stories. What I've wanted to do but have not yet done is go up to the cemetary where Night of the Living Dead was filmed. That's supposedly haunted, and it'd just be sweet because it's Night of the Living Dead. hehe.gif Mmm ^ you just go to go.. and it beats watching a lame "scary" movie with friends.

My buddy and I were watching some ghost videos on YouTube at work and we saw this Spanish video of this guy in a cemetary who gets freaked out by a ghost girl who is praying next to a grave or soemthing > search it. I think the main reason we're going is because we're curious. We've heard a bunch of stories from our friends and I guess we won't believe it unless we experience it for ourselves, y'know? Fa real.

Oh and there are actually ghosts at my school. Or at least were. We're getting a new school built currently, but our old one was over seventy years old with few renovations.

Mmm just one. I used to be on stage crew and every once in awhile we would have to stay really really late on school nights (when no one was there, mind you). So we were sitting on the set, talking and then we heard something move around by the cage. We looked up and we saw this girl in a white dress. It was no one we recognized, and if it was someone from stage crew, we'd know who it was. We BOLTED out of there as fast as we could. After that, we never agreed to stay after. Haha.

Well, my school is haunted.

The ghost of Catherine of Aragon, who was the 1st wife of HenryVIII and was exciled and died in the castle, haunts the place.

So does the ghost of a woman who, in a fit of madness, threw her baby from on eof the high windows into the courtyard.

i SERIOUSLY wan tto go in there one night with a couple of friends and snoop around. the place is creepy anyway, there are dungeons, and secret passages.

i frikken love my school.

I've gone ghost hunting. The Senior Exit Project that I chose to do was to make a documentary about the haunted and paranormal sites in California. I went ghost-hunting and filmed a lot of places, like the abandoned army hospital in San Francisco...Moss Beach Distillery, Caroland's Mansion, Strawberry Hill, and many more.
;D
Fun stuff.

the cave one was scary.......cause we were scared that a polar bear or a bear was gona attack us -_-;;; we weren't afraid of the ghost at all lol.

the apartment im living at is haunted....cause this place used to be a cemetry, but they moved it aside us..... if you come to ballinger commons apartment, you'll see a lot of black crows here -_-;;; it's so scary..

some neighbors said that they see ghost.... he has curly hair, wears woman's clothing, walks like he's mental stubborn.gif i swear............ i think they're talking about this mental guy who lives by himself. and he has curly hair!!!! he's not a ghost!! it's funny cause everyone got scared of him, they thought he was the ghost XDDDDDD ...

well at first, my friend and i thought he was a good ghost too cause he was wearing all white, IT WAS FREAKING SCARY THAT NIGHT. it was like twilight zone -__-;

My school is said to be haunted, as well. It's been around for an outrageously long time. At first, it was a hotel.. rumor has it that someone's finacee jumped out the window and committed suicide. What's the motive? I have no idea. So, after this said incident, no one wanted to stay at the hotel. They changed it into as asylum. After awhile, it died down so after many years of abandonment they decided the district needed another school.

I've always wanted to go ghost hunting, just for kicks. I live in the perfect town for it, too. It's an old historic site. I'm doing it one day.

I have never went ghost hunting, and I'd never do it alone if I ever found the courage to do so. Though, I do remember my cousin telling me a story. My aunt was hanging clothes out to dry in the sun one day in the summer and she was on the roof of a house. (The roof was a flat surface.) And so, there was not the slightest breeze or wind that day but for some reason, one of the clothes hung on the rope was sort of twisting and swirling as though the wind was moving it in that pattern. My aunt of course finished as fast as she could and left the roof. In India though, a lot of people are superstitious and believe in spirits. Not sure about ghosts, but definitely spirits.

Oh yes, I don't know how true this is, but I remembered something creepy. A neighbor of my family's says that the spirit of one of the main Hindu goddesses sort of enters her body at times. During that time, whatever she says, or rather predicts, turns out to be true. Creepy.

I've never went but I'd be pretty creeped out to.

My old elementary shcool was rumored to be haunted. Some friends said they were sitting on stage once and saw a ghost during gym. I dunno if it's true or not, but when you're 8 you'll believe anything.

there are rumors that my school is haunted. although i don't know if it's true or not.

the story is that when the school was being built, a guy named George was on a really high ladder on the center of the stage. and while he was doing whatever he was doing, he fell off and died on the center of the stage.

also, they say that the girls' locker room is also haunted [ hooray for me? x__x' ]. the lady who works there says that one time after everyone changed to go to p.e, she stood up on one of the benches to check if everyone was done [ that's how she normally checks] and she saw a girl with long hair. so she yelled at the girl to get to p.e and she went to the aisle to go see why that girl took so long. but when she got there, the girl was gone. so thinking it was strange, she walked back to the "cage" that she sits in. and while walking back, she saw in the mirror a girl with long hair walking past but she could only see her from the waist up ! O_O

lols goshh i swear i wanna sleepover at school one night [ with a group of friends of course XD ] just to see if the rumors are true .

Wow. blink.gif all those stories are a bit creepy. I would NEVER go ghost hunting alone. i'll get very freaked out. But it will be reallly cool if i can go ghost hunting with my friends one night.. that'll be awesome.

Last year, this guy from camp that's like realllly honest.. told my friend that once when everyone was sleeping... and it was like 2 a.m or something.. his dad heard the door bell ring.. he went by the door and opened it but there was no one there.. the same thing continued happening like 5 times.. and then his dad got reallly freaked out so then he was heading back to his room and later he saw bloody mary right infront of him. but then later bloody mary dissapeared..

i find that very creepy.

Also, one day I went to my friend's house because we had to work on this project.. and she told me that one day her sister woke up and saw a little hand print on the ceiling.. she was creeped out so she told her dad.. and then her dad tryed to clean it but it wouldn't go away. so then he tryed painting the handprint.. but it wouldn't go away. After that day it went away.. but then it came back. And the creepy thing is that when i was at her house, she showed me the hand print on the ceiling. _unsure.gif scary...

That's not funny!!! I ghost hunt!! cry.gif

Well .. I went on a ghost hunt with a tour group, with tools to measure electromagnetic fields and the temperature of the air and objects. It was at the alamo at night, and believe me it was spooky. Supposedly there's a cowboy ghost that wears a black cowboy hat that walks around there. The only exciting part was actually walking over the spot where Ozzy Osbourne peed during Ozzfest of 2003.

I took tons of pictures. Unfortunately, I didn't catch anything.

Off to a less tourist-filled, more haunted and deserted place, eh? I want to go to Bachelor's Grove Cemetary in Chicago and The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. That's actually the hotel that inspired Stephen King's "The Shining".

QUOTE
The ghosts in the Stanley Hotel aren't evil as in the book. Room 418 seems to have the most ghostly activity reported. In fact, the entire fourth floor of the Stanley Hotel (formerly the servants quarters) is quite active. Often, the sound of children playing in the halls of the Stanley can be heard, even when no children are present.

I wouldn't go alone. Anyone interested in going on a ghost hunt with me? laugh.gif

I've never met anyone online in CB who shares my interest in ghost hunting.

I love watching ghost hunting shows and am very interested. But I've never personally done it myself for there's a shortage of haunted locations in my town.

I often like to go out to "haunted" locations around my area with a group of friends just for fun. I have made several visits to Gypsy's cemetary, Dogface Bridge, Old Man Dewey's, the house of 500N, Reeder's Road, and several other "spooky" places. I'm not a believer in the supernatural. I don't believe in spirits. However, I have a vested interest in the human emotion of fear and just love "creepy" things. So, I goout of my way to seek out those areas which inspite fear in others. Great fun, it really is. But, I don't scare easy, so I'm looking for that spot. One of these days I hope I'll find it. happy.gif

This is where I want to go. The Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Kentucky.
Waverly Hills.

It may be disapointing though. Because the area is rather popular now, often considered one of, if not the most haunted area in the US. The building has exstensive security. As in, human guards marching about the premise. I don't want to pay $20 for a tour guide. I want in by myself. Oh, well. Who knows. Either way, looks pretty damn cool. Not too far away either.

^ ohmy.gif Sounds like fun, but $20? That's ridiculous.

Yeah, it looks awesome. But, I'm cheap as hell, plus... If I'm going to make the trip down there, I want to go in myself. I don't want to have to pile in with a bunch of strangers and listen to a tour guide. I want to experience it for myself, or maybe just with a few friends. Not some lame ass tour guide trying to spook us with doom and gloom history. But, since it is a trip that way, we could always stop at a few other places we have been meaning to go. So, the trip could end up being worth it either way. Hmmm.

Would you believe me if I said I've seen a ghost?
Exactly.
