Space Shuttles amaze me. They're 40 year old hardware, yet they outperform everything the world puts out. Not even the Buran could match it. Discovery launch was a success, but it seems like no one cares. It's probably the largest rocket you'll see go up today, yet it seems to me that more people are excited to see the fireworks show.

well, you hope fireworks blow up.

i wish i could see it for real. seeing it on a screen is nice and all, but for real- that would rock.

i once saw the blue angels fly. it was freezing, and it was wet, but it was worth it.

i have a feeling the space shuttle would be the same.

and not that many launches left.

must go see!

I watched the lauch. I was just hoping everything would go smoothly and it did. I don't care about fireworks much, hence the reason I'm at home on my computer now.

I watched it on C-SPAN, along with the thirty minutes pre-launch. I watched it until the main tank separation, but then C-SPAN cut the feed. Guess there were no more cameras to track it.

Yeah I'm kinda surprised they arent talking about it that much on tv.

But it seems like they were really wanting to have the launch today, on the 4th of July (even though there were several problems with the foam and backup stuff). Oh well. I'm really hoping its not a repeat of Columbia.

I live about 2 hours from Kennedy space center, so I watched it from my backyard. happy.gif

I've never seen one in person, but I love them. I've always had a fascination with space. My dad grew up in Tampa Florida (back when you could actually look around without a concrete building right in front of you) and he used to watch every launch from his yard.

I want to fly in space in an X-Wing Starfighter. Too bad they don't exist in the real world.

I saw it on TV. I wasn't even planning on it. I was just flipping threw and bam! it launched.

It was cool.

There was a launch? I would've seen it but either way if I knew about it or didn't, I wasn't able to see it. My tv broke. T_T
