Blogring still exist, I think they have a different owner though. I signed up for the site a looooong ago, before I became an active member here. I didn't stay long because it seemed somewhat disorganized.

i remember all the jocking of cB layouts by blogring members. when i joined, it was after i joined cB (i don't remember why). at the time i joined, which was late 2004?, there was a HUGE problem with jocking. like a person would post up a layout and be like, "I made it!" and then 30 minutes late, someone would be like, "Jocker! It's from cB!" or "Jocker! You stole the script!"

i came back here because unlike over there, 1 out 4 layout isn't jocked.

i remember the feud. i rememebr the first time they stole from us, they took nerdish's skin (behind the smile) and everyone flipped their shits and started war on them.

then after i became a soldier in that war, i found that if you typed createblog, it would change it to blogring. createblog.com = blogring.

also, that place is really hard to navigate. they have really confusing names for stuff.


i'm not sure about this, but didn't blogring report xangans to xanga and talk about how we were doing copyright infringement or whatever? for having the same name? or was that just discovered of their own accord? well either way, blogring is totally jocking xanga's layout :(

I don't care anymore though; they are in no competition if they're up against us.

I'm encouraging the staff to take a less aggresive approach when it comes to topics. I want you, the community, to have free reign of ideas, and to express them, however you see fit, no matter how good you are with words or not. Technically, Createblog is better, and I'll be the first to admit that. Your layout collection is astounding. Our site is disorganized, I know, but there's little I can do to change that.

As for the highest poster, that's me. I have 39,134 posts, and no, my posts don't lack quality. Most of our high post counts are developed in secret societies-- hidden little forums with selective membership.

And no, Mike is no longer an admin, and neither is John. Mike sold the forum to the highest bidder and John resigned.

On CB, I have less than one hundred posts. On BR, I've got over six thousand. Why? As everyone pointed out, Createblog's got more and better layouts than BR, it's much more organized, and definitely more active. But what keeps me active on a site are the people I meet. On Blogring, I feel welcomed. Not to say all the people on Createblog are evil and out to kill noobs, I was just recognized for posts I put a lot of thought into, and because my post count is low here, meh, I just feel classified as a "noob." Now I admit that a few people here welcomed me, Statues/ Shadows, pshaa.shauna (or something to that effect) back when I was on an old account, but it just wasn't enough to stay. Also, due to bad experiences other friends of mine had (most of them dealing with how someone looked), I felt less obligated to stay active. So you can be more active, more organized, better with graphics, but I'm happy with the lesser site, anyways.

I like it there. The people are friendly, as afore mentioned, and I didn't really join either for layouts because I make my own. I recently joined cB because I like to judge things for myself. I think many people at BR are like that. I don't make a generalizations that everyone from cB is a vegetarian, due to one member's beliefs (just an example). It's all out of courtesy.

So I was like, "Why are you warning me? The problem was solved...And so on..."

The next thing I knew I was suspended.

Posting topics that are rude and also annoying deserve a warning. Yes, a warning. With the warning, I also gave you a PM. I was surprised to see that you were even apart of People Staff from everything you threw at me.

Anyway, I do agree, you do have a better theme selection. You also have a better layout.

Michael Zhang did nothing to settle the copyright problems between Blogring and Createblog. His friend Jordan (trancis) settled it with micron without a single word of thanks from Michael.

The feud doesn't exist anymore because, as you can see, everyone on cB already feels that they are the best and they no longer feel they have to prove themself.

As for blogring . . net being filtered, isn't it about time you remove that micron? I know blogring doesn't filter createblog anymore. (I fixed that)

For everyone coming here to defend BR, I have nothing against the website or its members. That feud is long over, although I understand that this thread comes across as a personal attack. To those who ARE attacking BR, that's not what we're here for so please stop. On their forums, CB isn't even brought up, much less insulted, so it's not right for our members to be bashing them for no reason.

I'll bring something up about the filtering with one of the admins, I'm sure that's just something that never got removed. As far as I know, there really is no animosity between us anymore.

I figured, after quietly tracking this thread all evening, that I'd interject a few thoughts of my own.

Let me start with this:

Disturbing, I find your fixation on BR. On our community. On the way we do things. Is it fear I sense? Feeling threatened at all? I've read three pages of incessant whining, on and on about how our design is innefectual, not as good, we don't have as many good layouts, etcetera. Itherto, you've said: "Createblog is better than Blogring!" A bold statement. For having an inferiority complex, Blogring, even pulling out of a "slow" point, still manages to clip 14 million user hits a month. We're generating enough self sustaining revenue to begin moving the site to an even bigger server, and facilitate a greater amount of resources, both internal and external.

For being an "administrator" on cB, this is an awful statement. You're judging BR, when it truth, it's pretty clear you have absolutely no basis, or idea what you're talking about, aside from some (understandable, however skewed) slant you have. If you'd actually sit down, and roll your mouse over the top of the page, you'll discover something: We use the same navigation system (Thanks, ipb!) but ours even has multiple and redundant forum links so you can't get lost! Everything is laid out pretty clear. If you can't figure it out, it's not the site layout that's bad, maybe those who can't understand it are just stupid.

Not to pop your bubble or anything, since you think we're "no competition", but you know we are. You have an ACP, and I'm damn sure you know how to check your hits per month. We wouldn't be sitting near the top on most search engine spiders if we were no competition. On most engines, we actually beat cB. According to google, we also beat you on re-directs and hits. But, please. you're right. You're the only viable skinning site out there.

Incoherent, I appreciate you quoting me, it gives a good indication on how BR is completely evolving into a beast you can't hope to fathom from this vantage point. Tip of the iceberg. The wheels of change have just began to turn, and I'm not going to tout my superiority, or call cB no competition.

And let me correct a few rumors:

Michael Zhang sold BR LONG ago. It's now under new ownership. The URL is the same. The only difference is now we have a rather large funding base to do with as we please on the site, because our benefactor happens to a number of high traffic community sites, which gives us a very flexible budget.

Also, Criss, John (BR's former administrator), did not resign. Yusuf had him replaced. John was retiring anyway, though, fyi.

And yes, I did have a little run here on cB. I judged cB for myself, and deemed cB inadequite, but that's my opinion. If my girlfriend (Jamie Lynn) likes cB, so be it. That's her choice, I'm not going to get fussy about it. I'm a fan of opinion.

I also find that I like BR's community more. We're far more friendly and welcoming.

We also don't start drama with your site. We just don't care enough.

Cute though, that many of you seem to care so much. And since you all love to just express your opinions on BR, I thought I'd share mine about cB with all of you. Take if for what it is.

I don't like the drama. I'm not a fan of it, and I don't like to propogate it here on cB. But i deserve a say.

Michael Zhang sold BR LONG ago. It's now under new ownership. The URL is the same. The only difference is now we have a rather large funding base to do with as we please on the site, because our benefactor happens to a number of high traffic community sites, which gives us a very flexible budget.

Also, Criss, John (BR's former administrator), did not resign. Yusuf had him replaced. John was retiring anyway, though, fyi.

And yes, I did have a little run here on cB. I judged cB for myself, and deemed cB inadequite, but that's my opinion. If my girlfriend (Jamie Lynn) likes cB, so be it. That's her choice, I'm not going to get fussy about it. I'm a fan of opinion.

I also find that I like BR's community more. We're far more friendly and welcoming.

We also don't start drama with your site. We just don't care enough.

Cute though, that many of you seem to care so much. And since you all love to just express your opinions on BR, I thought I'd share mine about cB with all of you. Take if for what it is.

I am in no way offended by your answers (unless of course you mean your grammar..and for the record, I'm still kidding, ye of little sense of humor), nor have I asked any questions, "scary" or otherwise. I have done absolutely nothing to warrent offense, though you're really starting to irritatie me, so that might be changing quickly enough.

Also, might I point out that moderating a group of people does not make them "yours." I'm sure it's very noble of you to try to defend blogring, but let's give people a little credit too, no? Then again, who am I kidding? If you stop, who will Jamie have to worship?

as far as i can see, this was not supposed to turn into something to get upset and offended about. sure, we spoke our minds and in doing so, you retaliated. completely understandable since it was us who did the same, but as linda belle pointed out, this topic was brought up by a member who has recently returned. it was not of their knowledge as to what was happening; they even stated that this shouldnt be about bashing your site out the wazoo. proving that you get more hits and are on top of more search engines is only fueling the fire. lets all just let it go. as mentioned before, this was not to turn to hate and a way to look down upon your site. this is just more of a "whats happened..." rather than what you're making it out to be. i hate to bring this back up especially since you are done picking this apart with nicki, but since my name was mentioned, you're getting my 2 cents. the thing is, we have our problems with your site, you have your problems with ours. should that make us hate each other and have to cross sites to prove our side? no.
