Newbie question? Options

Ah ok I have a little bit of a problem. I've been making overlays on Internet Explorer and had no Idea that it would effect how the overlays would look on other browsers. So yea I just found out and downloaded Firefox. But theres one problem--everytime I go to open Firefox it doesn't work-at all-the page does not load. Now I dunno what to do. Suggestions anyone?
