What is the basic size of a web page...im making a background and its going to be a fixed on. So i was j/w the width and stuff i sound set my new black page im workin on to??? and tell me if its in pixles or just inches.

With the popularity of widescreen notebooks, though, 1024x768 is rapidly falling out of standard. It's best to design a resolution-independent webpage.
