CODE
[thumb]image url here[thumb]

your picture is stretching the forum majorly, you should thumb it by sticking the link to your image where it says "image url here"^

yeah the effects are really awesome, but nobody really uses grids anymore. People usually stick with textures now and brushes for effects.

cB's Big Book of Resources

There are a lot of good PS tutorials there, and some PS brushes as well. _smile.gif

P.S.
I like the effects you did, actually. Moreso on the second image. :)

Simple blending is a good place to start out

When I first started, I just tried making banners by adding text to pictures and effects. Then I realized blending was such a huge fad, so I followed a tutorial and used my brain and now I am where I am today hehe

Seriously, any tutorial is a good tutorial. Most teach you something that you didnt know before. So yeah, just go through them and if you see something you find looks cool or is a style your interested in, then follow it *shrugs*

^brushes are like stamps pretty much
you can change the size of them change the color and put anywhere you want to put them.
you can make your own or download them from other sites. 0_o

someone else could give a better ehm definition.

anyway it looks fine i suppose.
All you did was like add a pattern over the top. Pretty simple to do...
But I suppose you just started. So it looks good.

yeah, Holly you gave a pretty convincing definition =] couldnt have said it better myself haha

when you poen up photoshop, theres a tool shaped like a paintbrush. And, surprise surprise, its called the brush tool hahhaa

clik on that tool. Then right click anywhere on your screen, and you'll see a whole bunch of different shaped brushes you can choose from.

THe cool thing about brushes, as Holly said, is that they can come in all shapes and sizes =]

When you right click, in the top corner of the square that pops up, theres a little arrow. Click on that. There you'll see you have more options. You can load brushes you download, save the brushes you make yourself, or if you go down to where it says "assorted brushes" or "square brushes"... you can use some of the brushes that photoshop premade for your use!

hopefully I'm making sense hehe

hm.. the pattern is pretty cool, but the overall image is kind of weak. there doesn't seem to be a point to it, like... a meaning or message. but then again, it's fun just trying out different effects and all =]

Sure, and texturize. You can do a lot of things in photoshop...took me a while to discover everything though.
