have you ever wondered what's beyond the universe? past planets and galaxies and stars? i've always thought it was infinite, just an endless black mass continuing on forever. or does it just abruptly stop? i'm very curious about it.

what are your thoughts about it?

I think, it stops.

We're living in a ball of mass.
It moves very slowly.
it bounces off from wall.

everything had limits. A circle had limit too. we'll break 'em.

well, from what i collect, it's infinent.

then how's it expanding, you say?

well, take a balloon. now, imagine it blown up a bit.

mark two Xes on it.

now imagine you're a very small ant on the balloon. to you, there are only 2 dimensions to the balloon. the balloon is now being slowly blown up.

every day, you walk from one X, where you life, to the other X, where you work.

and every day it gets longer.

but yet, there are no edges.

yes, it does assume a 5th dimension (assuming time isn teh 4th)

^Ah, but the X's get bigger as well. If everything constantly expands, no one will ever notice it, because they are expanding with it.

no, i'm saying for that expansion theory of the universe to be correct, it requires a 5th dimension which is being converted into the first 3 dimensions.

i always thot it is infinite but maybe it can end at some point i dont think that it could go on forever..it would be interesting if NASA tries to get through all that dark mass..maybe theirs an alternate universe lol.

^ if in fact there is an alternate universe, we need to devise a way to ship people like Fran Drescher and George W. Bush to it.

I believe it to be infinite. We don't even know the size of the universe itself considering we've never been able to go beyond our own Milky Way Galaxy. Who knows what else is out there. Past planets, galaxies, and stars are even more stars, planets, and galaxies. Besides, if it stops, what's stopping it? You don't know what sort of barrier there is, if one even exists, so I just believe it goes on forever.

Can the mind even begin to fathom the infinite?

i'm pretty sure time IS the 4th. i've never heard theories of a 5th dimension before. but then again, i haven't really researched theoretical science recently..

and you can NEVER hit the edge. at least, not in our lifetime with our technology. even if we do create something that can go at the speed of light, it would take YEARS to go to even the next galaxy. and it would need A LOT of energy. (no, we can't use coal, fuel, electrocity, solar power, ect.).

right now, i think everything's just basically theories. they say that for our universe to be expanding, there has to be another universe outside of it.

it's a scary thought just thinking of how big everything is. if we compare ourselves to the whole universe, we'd be a speck of dust! (no, much, much, much, much smaller than that.) if we were to make a scale model of our galexy, we'd be a fentometer (i think it's 10^ -15 or was it -12?)!

Some scientists believe the universe may contain as many as ten dimensions.
