Back in the old days, most of us never had to worry about anything. We were childish, youngsters, and carefree. we dont carry a cartload of responsibilities as much as adults. And, we like that? dont we? we didnt have to wash dishes, vacuum the carpet, and help around the house much or at least, we didnt had it hard. remember, we were amaze of pets running around your house, cool pets in the car passing by you? And ... perhaps, our funny spiders experiences? Oh man, we never had to care about looking "pretty", "cute", and "good-looking". We were already cute. We dont have to shop for acne products, new fashions, styles, and shampoos. We didnt care much about it. It didnt bother us until now, puberty changes conflict our lives. Nowadays, we spend time being more responsible and mature around the house. we no longer expert at seeing and believing miracles. we left childhood ... a while ago.
![]() Open your eyes now, you're an old hag. Do well in school; get into whatever college and graduate. If you can do well during these years, you will most likely have a better child. You will treat them a good childhood years without having to worry too much about paying bills, over working, and money. What a child need … is you. ![]() Do you like being a child or adult/teenagers? What was your experience in life? what was so great about it? Why is one better than the other? haha, i'm so random ;] |

there are multitudes of benefits. easily observed by playing a variety of childhood games against young children. |

I liked being in the junior high. I was old enough to be independent, but not enough to worry about college just yet.

jk. I like right now. I'm old enough to do what I want, but I don't have too big of a responsibility. |

It's funny how, as a kid, you wish you could be older.
But once you are, you at times wish you were still a kid. I don't know, I always seem to have a problem with time, especially with feeling nostalgic. I can't say that I'd prefer one over the other, because both have their ups and downs. Meh..I'm indescisive on this subject. |

You know, the shift between graduating high school and moving out of my mom's house was pretty tough for me. I'm not even paying rent or utilities, and still what I do have to pay for gets pretty overwhelming. I've learned a lot though. I've learned that when you work for people, at least in retail, they pretend to have your best interests in mind, but in all reality they only want you to make them money. I've found out that $7.25 an hour, 40 hours a week, is barely enough to pay for car loan+insurance+gas, and god forbid that one would try to make a living off of that amount. What does that say about our minimum wage? And as an adult, you can't rely on your parents to take the fall for something you mess up, you're held accountable for your own actions. That's a nice thought, eh? Of course there are benefits, but growing up is probably one of the biggest obstacles we have to overcome.

Being an adult sucks. We take for granted, as children, the joys that we have, and then BOOM, its gone.

Meh..I'm indescisive on this subject. THAT is very true. Being 18 right now, I gotta say a lot of doors opened up for me and I like it. But I miss senior year of high school, or the second half anyways. I met my new best friends, and I actually went places and got out of the house. I finally felt like I had a second family away from home. One year later, half of my best friends are gone and living in different countries. I don't wanna grow up anymore lol. |

Lol the funniest thing happened this morning..
My little brother came up to me when I was in the kitchen: Him: I want to be a grown-up. Me: Why? Him: So I can do grown-up things. I'm just a kid. Me: You don't want to be a grown-up. Him: Yes I do. Me: Now you do, but when you get older, you'll wanna' be a little kid again. Him: Nuh uh. Me: Yes huh. Him: Nuh uh. Me: Yes huh. ..and so forth. ![]() |

^That's cute
I kinda like now. I still act likea kid anyways. I'm the worst child,I swear. Rarely do I ever clean anything. what's horrible is my family came to expect that of me. and they gave up trying to make me. hahaha. I mean I still run around like a child. It tottally made my day this one time I found a merry go round at the park. and I spun on that thing untill I about puked. I have NO attention span,AT ALL. I can't get through the whole song on my ipod unless I'm doing something else. But I'm not naive anymore. I don't think I'll ever completely grow up. I'll probably be forty years old and still be jumping onto a merry go round like I was five. |

Sometimes I want to be a kid again. The biggest problems there were gum in my hair or someone calling me a butthead. There was no worrying about weight, looks and things like that. But there wasn't as much freedom as I have now.

Exactly. I always wanted to be older as a kid. I still do want to be older sometimes to have more freedom and be able to do more things. I rarely miss my childhood days, but there is that occasional moment. |

This reminds me sooooooo much of a thought I was having before I fell asleep last night. I was listening to old nineties music [Sixpence None The Richer - Kiss Me, Third Eye Blind - Jumper, Sugar Ray - When It's Over, LFO - Summer Girls (I can't believe I liked that song... -shudders- Lol) etc.] & i was beginning to feel like a kid again. I miss it sooo much... =\
Playing Super Mario Bros, Late night during the summer with step-cousins from DR & Ecuador... Playing Stickball outside... Sleeping over friend's houses & staying up playing video games... Not doing Hw and being able to get away with it... Living with mom & dad... Sorry for getting all specific. BAH! I liked being a kid way better. & I totally agree with the post above mine. When I was a kid, I wanted to get older... But now that I'm older, I want to be a kid again. |

well, being a teenager, you're loaded with much more responsibility than when you were a kid. but i'm not exactly to the point where i have to take care of myself and go out into the world and make a living. like sarah said, kids wish to be older, but then realize they wish they were younger. so i'm not in any hurry to be an adult. i like being a teenager.

Oh. See, when I think of this, I don't wish to "go back,"--I wish I was a happier kid.
I mean, I dislike my childhood, but if I could go back and redo it, sure. For the past few months, my worries and anxiety have been surrounding my future. I don't consider myself an adult, though I'm very close to being one, but there are many more responsibilities and things to worry about than say, chores. I don't mind doing them because they don't signify that my childhood is over, but just an annoyance. What scares me, though, is the dependence I have on my family. I don't grow close to people easily, so they really are the ones I depend on to get things done without feeling anxious or sick, and if they're not around, then I just get sick. It's not so much that I enjoy their company, but..stability. It's relieving to know that they can help. And it's comforting to not have to worry about the proper etiquette of things.. I worry about sitting alone in a restuarant, going to places alone, paying for things and losing my money, and just..effing up little things like that--you have no idea how I fear BIG things. That makes me wish I could go back and be a happy kid. But thinking of my childhood makes me sick. I was an awkward child then; now I'm just an awkward teenaged girl. There are a few advantages to being this age, though, I think. Like..increased knowledge? Being able to see things in a completely different light and to empathize rather than only thinking selfishly as we did as kids? Uhm..yeah. Yeah, my mind is probably the only thing I like about this age.. |

I miss being a child. I was really happy. My faith in God was really strong and I was nice to everyone. I wasn't the pervert I am now O_O -_- and I actually had a close relationship with my parents. Every year in my birthday I would get wonderful presents and every goal I achieved I was praised. Everyday was a fun time at school. Every summer was a visit to the playground and a "hello" to the ice cream man. Best part of all, I didn't (like) like anyone (those who experienced unrequited love would know what I mean).
Now, it's just not the same. I'm so insecure and really paranoid. Pressure came along with age and I just got too busy with things. Friends think "not caring" will get them anywhere and I still reminisce of my childhood days. Overall, childhood years ![]() |

Childhood was so much better because of the lack of responsibility and carefree-ness (is that a word? lol)
But, I still love being a teenager. =] |

I liked being a kid. I still act like one even though I'm about ot be a junior in high school. I'm still immature, so I'm pretty ok with being me now.
Only thing that sucks is I'm finally old enough to get a job, but no one will hire me 'cause I look like a 12 year old according to some friends. I really don't have an opinion on whether being a kid or a teenager is better. I liked just being a kid when I was one, and I like being a teenager now. ![]() |

It's funny, because most of us have not left our childhood years yet, but people our age seem to think they have. The thing is, twenty years from now, you're going to think of the age as a child and think how silly you were, and think of the age you are now, and still think how silly you were.
Personally, I think I'm still a kid sometimes. And I don't think I've entirely grown up, so I'm not going to regret about my childhood years when I'm STILL having more fun than when I would be a real adult. Rather than thinking about the past and being kind of sad about it, think of now. Have fun while you still can. |
