And I can't wait until the 5th movie. I happen to declare myself the authority on everything Potter, as well.

What the hell?

I love Harry Potter very much (I'm rereading the 5th book at the moment) but I don't really care for the movies much at all. I can wait for the 5th movie, but I want the next book!

Oh definitely. I think the movie adaptions of the series really starts to bloom in Prisoner of Azkaban (of course, I'm biased as I adore Gary Oldman). I thought that they did a wonderful job with Goblet of Fire too. Although, I was a bit dissapointed that there wasn't further development with the Hermoine/Ron storyline. I mean, at the prom she spontaneously just blows up! At least, that's how it seemed to me. I also thought it was horribly out of character for Dumbledore to grab Harry Potter like he died (after his name came out of the GoF). Oh well, the actor that plays Dumbledore just isn't Richard Harris. :(

I'm super excited about the next film, although I anticipate having mixed emotions considering what happens at the end. :(

ME TOO! The new Dumbledore is HORRIBLE! He acts all clever and mysterious and tricky, and like, that's not Dumbledore at all. Very bad adaptation of the wise and caring person that Dumbledore is supposed to be.

And, there wasn't really any hint to Ron/Hermione anywhere near the fourth book, so I thought it was odd that she seemed angry about it at all. I thought they shouldn't have done anything about it. She did randomly blow up though...

^ Oh see, I saw a lot of Ron/Hermoine hints in that book. The way he behaved after he found out she was going with Viktor, for example. I'd have to read it again, but I totally remember seeing hints. There was a really good interview I read a while back where Rowling pointed a lot of these little tid bits regarding Ron/Hermoine. I'll look for it when I get home and post it.

Oh, I know he was a little angry, but that could've been about anything - not necessarily him liking her. I think they took the hints a little too far in the movies. You're not supposed to know about that till it happens.

I love the books, like the first two movies, hated the second two. They really have to get rid of that director. He is trashing the movies. He obviously has barely read the book, he keeps leaving out gigantic parts that are important in books to come.

Ok, well first off the last two films were directed by two different people:

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - Directed by Alfonso Cuarón

Writing credits (WGA)
J.K. Rowling (novel)
Steven Kloves (screenplay)

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire - Directed by Mike Newell

Writing credits (WGA)
Steven Kloves (screenplay)
J.K. Rowling (novel)

I'd also like to point out that Rowling was very much a part of the filming process and both directors had her blessings.

yeah but the second director "modernized it". It came out horrible. He left out huge parts, like how he snuck out of azkaban, winky in general, and since when was everything burnt? They were just keeping muggles in the air. Since when does a werewolf look like gollum? Ugh I just hated that director.

^ I completely agree. All of my friends who didn't read the books think that the third one is the best, and I agree - in the movie only sense. But if you've read the book, it's absolutely terrible. I hate it so much. Not only did they leave out some of the most important things and tried to make all the students more Muggle-like, they changed things that there was no point in changing. It did nothing to fix the story or anything. Completely unnecessary. They keep making stuff about Ron & Hermy too, and there wasn't even any focus on that at all till the last book.

To be fair, I just reread them all, and in the 4th book, there was a fair amount of Ron being jealous and starting to realize he liked Hermione.

Not third, and it wasn't THAT emphasized in the fourth. There was hinting, not full-out telling everyone that they like eachother a lot.

In the third movie, they grabbed eachothers' hand! What is that!
I just think that yes, there is a fair amount in the books, but it's not the focus of things happening to the kids and in the movies, they focus on it way too much.

If you don't like harry potter, don't post here bashing about it. The other forum I go to and have been there over two years does not allow bashing of a topic or of anything for that matter. Its just plain rude.

Anyway, yes I am a Harry Potter fan, Iv read all the books, and read book three twice xD!
I loved the last movie, it was my favorite because it was the one that followed the book the most and also showed that Harry, Ron, and Hermione are growing up. I didn't really like the 5th book =/, it was mainly a blank filling book. My favorite book is book 6 because, it was just great!

Mm, I thought you were just talking about the fourth. It's been quite a while since I watched the third movie, but honestly, it does make sense that it should be emphasized in the fourth movie. I mean, we wouldn't, but still, considering the main audience for the movies, I can understand they feel the need to push it to keep people's interest. (I'd think the fact that they're Harry Potter alone would do that, but nevermind logic.)

Hmm.. I swear (granted it's been years since I read Year 3) that there were hints of Ron/Hermoine in Azkaban. The whole hand holding thing was definitely on set scripted though. And there was another little bit with them at the end of the second film. She hugs Harry but her and Ron have this *akward* moment and do not hug.

Of course, I say this knowing full well that I'm an avid Ron/Hermoine shipper and sometimes shippers have a way of *seeing* things that might not be there. tongue.gif

To the Ron/Hermion shipping thing, JK Rowling has said it herself in an interview to the runner of the leaky cauldron, and there is even a video on Youtube showing all the inuendos to the relationship from the book xD!:
