hey guys, since xanga's tech support really sucks and aren't replying to my e-mails, i thought i might post my problem here...hopefully someone can help me :)
http://xanga.com/nelce so the posting calendar on the right...for some reason, it's not letting me change the month...when i click on the cheverons << or >>, it the posting calendar remains on the June month and I can't go back to May, or go forward to July. Does anyone know how to fix this? By the way, I used the <$Calendar$> code inside my Skin template. Thanks in advance! |

hey, for those of you who use xanga....you know how it recently asked us to update our profile interface? well, i did. and now, i can't save any information on my profile. i would enter my information, hit save changes, and then the items will still remain blank...
i am using this link http://profile.xanga.com/edit/EditProfile.aspx any idea how to overcome this? i was wanting to change the profile information that displays on my xanga site... namely, i was trying to get rid of the "gender" display...even after i delete the gender and save it, it still displays on my xanga homepage.. btw, im using the <$Profile_Info$> script in the skins section to display my profile info |

okay. i did some testing with changing my profile. when i change my gender to "female," then my profile information displayed on my xanga homepage will change to female. however, when i change the gender to "select" (aka leaving it blank), the profile information displayed changes back to male. i don't understand this..it seems like it defaults to male if i leave it blank....
btw, my xanga is here: http://xanga.com/nelce i'm talking about the profile information displayed on your right. thanks! |

It works fine for me. (for me, it no longer says female)
[ http://www.xanga.com/rhythmsicle ] Did you upgrade your profile? Because the stupid thing wouldn't let me not upgrade it. It may very well have to do with the fact that you have two months represented on one page of entries. Yeah. Because when you go back 5 entries, it functions fine. Then again, I'm using Mozilla, so IE may function with the link diffrently. -shrug- I'm just saying. -> Topics Merged. |

hey thanks for your reply. i am using mozilla, but i tried IE also and the posting calendar doesn't work. but you are right, it works if i go back so that only the may entries are displayed. regardless, it seems buggy. since i'm using the <$Calendar$> code from xanga, is there anyway to edit that source?
as for the profile, lucky the damn thing didn't let you update =p cuz it's horrible. i wish i hadn't updated it too...this new one is buggy as hell... |

No, because I HAD to update. Actually, it let me change it. That's what I was saying (wouldn't let me not upgrade it, you see?).
Xanga is entirely buggy. Duh. That's the reason why they're still improving and besides that... It's fairly inexpensive. What do you expect? It'd only be horrible if you were paying hundreds of dollars and it was still buggy as hell. Which is why sometimes, it's just easier to deal when you think about what limits you're stretching. |

well, so you ARE using the new profile system. i think the problem is with the <$Profile$> code because I created another account and upgraded it to the same profile system. changed the gender. and it displayed just fine. but since i'm using a skin with my current account and using <$Profile$> to display the information..somehow, things are screwing up...
