Gravitation is okay in my opinion.

QUOTE
The story surrounds the aspiring and energetic singer Shuichi Shindou who, with his band, Bad Luck (formed with his best friend Hiro), wants to become Japan's next big thing, like his famous idol Ryuichi Sakuma, lead singer of the disbanded legendary group Nittle Grasper. One evening, Shuichi is writing lyrics for a song when his paper is blown away by the wind and picked up by a tall blond man. The man dismisses Shuichi's hard work, which hurts Shuichi deeply, although he is intrigued by the stranger. This will be only their first encounter, as Shuichi will become fascinated by the stranger, who turns out to be a famous romance novelist, Eiri Yuki, and they will begin a relationship.

The story expands to include the beginnings of Bad Luck and their rise to fame, as well as their rivalry with the band ASK; the reformation of Shuichi's idol's band, Nittle Grasper; a long suffering fiancée of Eiri's who wants to finally marry him and serves as an enemy then an ally for Shuichi; the public scandal surrounding Eiri's and Shuichi's relationship; attempts by Eiri's inner circle to keep Shuichi away from Eiri in "Eiri's best interests"; and the secret of Eiri's painful past that he has trouble remembering and which is keeping him from giving in to his feelings for Shuichi.

Along the way there is some great music, a diverse set of interesting characters, plenty of comedy and touches of drama and violence.

As is typical in Japanese shonen-ai and yaoi, one character does all the chasing while the other keeps refusing or pushing them aside. However, in this case the tables are turned as it is the innocent Shuichi who is in pursuit of the reticent Eiri, as opposed to the usual setting of the more masculine character pursuing the more naive character.

There are two things you need to know:
Do not UNDER ANY FRIGGIN CIRCUMSTANCES watch the English version. It sucks soooo badly because of all the language jokes in Japanese. And the voices are idiotic beyond belief.
If any of the following annoy you, you aen't going to enjoy Gravitation under any circumstances:
Refrences in third person. (EX: Reili is hungry.)
Techo-ish music. Scratch that, music in general.
Additives. (EX: Ryuuichi adds "(na) no da" to the ends and Shuuichi says "La li ho" when entering a room.)
Gay guys (that's kinda obvious...)
Inability to find the music in the show (especially Welcome to My Romance... But that's a fangirl thing. -cough-)
----
Gravitation is about (the anime) Ryuuichi. -recives blank stares- Oops. Fangirl-ism. Oh well. But it is!! Episode two when... -trails off, avoiding spoiler-
Gravitation is about (the OVA) Shuuichi being and idiot and Yuki being a jerk. Okay. End of story.
Last cents: 2:10.

let's see.. Gravitation is pretty good, in my opinion. that is, if you're okay with shonen-ai. _smile.gif

Gravitation can be found as a manga or in anime series form. they're both good, but the anime moves a little faster, of course. I know there's 3 DVD's of the anime out, with about 4 episodes on each disk.

you can find the manga series at Borders or any good bookstore that carries a pretty good selection of manga. I know you can order the anime from Amazon.com, but there must be other places, too. and like said before, do not get the english dubbed version. the japanese version with subtitles is so much better because the voices don't sound… weird. huh.gif

if you can't get the DVD's and need the VHS… I'm afraid they don't make it for VHS. at least, I'm not aware that they've produced VHS for Gravitation yet.

hope I could help! happy.gif

It's 13 episodes. The anime that is (+OVA). There's a... Novel and it's a 12-manga series. Which I was gonna buy right after the novel. I wanted to do a book report on it. Sheesh, if I was gonna do one anyways... Yes. You're talking to a crazy little fangirl. Oh man. My friend said "... but it's mostly gay guy action and violence" and my head shoots up and the teacher asks me whats wrong. Mind you, he's sitting, like, three feet away. Okay. Yeah. Shutting up.

If you have a fast connection (like me) and no money (like me). Oh. And here for the manga translations. Most of 'em anyways. here for scans. Whoa. I never realized... Never mind. Shutting up now.

I <3 Gravitation.
But then again, I <3 yaoi & shounen ai. shifty.gif

But anyway. If you're comfortable with gaysss, then go ahead and read it.
It's a pretty good series.

Huh. They must have been removed within the last week, because I was watching them last Friday. And, uh, I had them all in a text file from... Spring break, because I wanted to watch them. -has no life- So they're a little old.
Haha... If you have Comcast, the onDemand was showing the English dub with no song subtitles! I was having a blast with flashcards and karaoke... But I wish I had seen episode 2! Gah. Episode 2 is so.... -realizes she's about to say something- Nevermind. -coughs loudly- I am not about to give you a torrent link.
