Well, I finally getting myself into shape not only for my health but for prom also which is in (6/10) and I need to loose some weight from my thighs, stomach**, upper body and face. And I know running helps a lot but i tried yesterday and i only ran for 10-15mins and it was so hard for me. my legs hurt and i was out of breath three times. I used to be sucha great runner and toned up and now it's so sad that i cant run for 20-30mins like i plan to. Is there a way for me to improve and what will help me shed those pounds? I'm planning to lose 10-15/20, if possible.

uh..running only 15 minutes is hardly going to do much. you have to run hills, ignore the pain and run long distance. the first two weeks are going to be brutal especially if you dont work out constantly. your legs and perhaps your arms will get sore and it really isnt that fantastic. after a week/2 weeks or so, your body gets used to it. dont stop just because youre tired, PUSH YOURSELF.
if you have any questions, PM me. im on the cross country and track team. |

I run all the time for school...but it doesn't seem to work to me, I guess I have a slow metabolism. I avoid sweating because I sweat more than what antiprespirant can block I guess.

Meh. Take care of yourself, first. Any sort of exercise will take some time to get used to, and you will, just don't push yourself so hard. Watch your diet, or look into extra activites to invoke[?] weight loss.

Well I know running 10-15mins isnt going to help--i was just explaing to all you guys that, that was my FIRST time running in years. B/c I'm so out of shape that I only ran for 10-15mins; of course i know its not going to help and the next time i run..i am going to run longer..its just so hard and im going to try to push myself. but thanks for your advice you guys, please keep giving more(:

I'd suggest walking to school and back every day, if possible.
If not, then start off slow with your running program, and work up. Don't start off trying to run like, 10 miles on the first day. Try a half-mile or 1 and work up to 10 during the next week or so. Another idea is joining a gym running program or a school team. Other tips ::
