I'm not very crafty at all.. Once I made a bracelet for my mom out of fabric and buttons and thread and velcro.. I thought it was beautiful at the time and I was so proud of it, but looking back, that thing was HIDEOUS. My mom never wore it and it just suddenly "disappeared" and I knew she didn't like it, so I was deeply hurt. sad.gif

But hey, making cafepress t-shirts is a fairly inexpensive alternative, and it still allows you to make something completely customized. I've done that a couple of times. :)

Most of the time I just give out money, but one time I did take the time to make a card and used graphics and all with GIMP. (Free, watered down version of Photoshop)

It depends on who it's for and what type of person it is. Usually for my boyfriend, though, I make him something.

I'd like to make gifts for people but I like giving people something they can really use... The things I can make are really just for decoration. I'm not too great with the homemade stuff anyway. I remember in first grade I made my mom a Mother's Day card. All the cards were all in the shape of a teapot with a little Lipton's tea bag inside with a little poem about relaxing with tea. I picked the cover especially for her because it was a big red flower, though my mother has kept it all these years, she gave it back to me _unsure.gif

I've made those annoying pastel paper stars, after awhile it hurt my fingertips because of the points. I've made woven bracelets, they were quite time consuming because I was very anal about them. The instructions were easy but I took extra time to see if I did things correctly. I'm just a freak about homemade things, if I can't get it right I'll just toss it or something.

Chii - I made one of those homemade bracelets for Brandon once. He thought it was really cool. His dog ate it when I was home alone with her. sad.gif

Nah, I prefer to buy the gift and write my own card. i hate hallmark cards. they disgust me and cost about 100 times the cost it took to make it.

yea
i once made my friend a card..
i used photoshop to make the front
but the inside had a origami type envelope that held like money..

she found it quite creative and liked it a ton
although she likes home-made cards. happy.gif

oh i once made a poke'mon bag for a friend as well
with robot fabric [lining] in the inside.

quite two opposites
but i think their both neat =]

I never make presents but I wish I would.

Oh, actually, I'm cross-stiching a blanket for my youth minastry leader who's having a baby. But other than that, no.

Not really, they usually turn out crap. I usually make the card myself though.

I filled up a bottle of straws which I folded into flowers, and in the middle of the bottle, there was a necklace.

I love to do arts&crafts, all that good stuff. I almost always make something (a small gift), and then buy another item to add to the gift. And I handmake all my cards. Buying cards is a waste of money, and you don't feel as satisfied.
