I use MP3's, but that only works if your phone supports MP3 ringtones.

What? A disk?
Maybe.

There are various topics on this already. I made one too.

You can use a data cable, internet, or use your email account.
It also depends on the sound capabilities your phone supports. Most phones nowadays will support MIDI ringtones, and most them support of them support the new mp3/voice/real sound ringtones too. It's just the latter of the 2 is harder to get.

What carrier gives you free ringtones? If you want a midi, get the link and email to your cellphone. :)

On www.funformobile.com you can learn how to make your own ringtones. They have a link under "Help Forum" to teach you, you have to download the program though. The program is called Wave Pad and its not only good for ringtones, but to cut music and things like that. For ringtones, make sure they have your carrier though. wink:

I was wondering if anyone could help me with my ringtone issue. I have an old phone, a Nextel i205 and I was looking for free ringtones because the ringtones that I can buy for my phone are the ones that just go beep beep beep, no words. Thats called a poly right? IDK but if you know of any websites that support my model your help would be greatly appreciated! _smile.gif

I have a LG XV8100 from Verizon Wireless, it says that the ringtones used mp3 format and i went to www.funformobile.com like that person said above me. And I found a ringtone mp3 format (at least thats what it said) and it sented it to my phone. but it went to my sounds instead my ringtones. so, is there a website out there that can give me exactly free mp3 ringtones and a website thats safe?? i have music on my comp. and i wanna send it to my phone but i dont know how to cut music...how?

Hmm, does your phones come with a USB cord? Cause mine came with one, and I just transfer the songs from my computer to the phone.

It all depends on the phone and the carrier.

Motorola phones are the easiest to get free ringtones. U can make them yourself. Just use mobile phonetools that comes with your phone.

Samsung phones are also able to get free ringtones you make yourself but they only can last about 10 secs and are horrible quality.

nextel phones, u can try nextpimp.com

I customized my motorola v635 alot with a new firmware and I make a ringtone almost every other day.

wow, i'm surprised. this thread lasted like 3 months already and only has 22 posts...
my phone sucks now because i had to but the USB cord thingy for it and then i tried to use it but i couldn't and it started to be really crappy and got pissed and i lost it..
if you want something that has songs for ringtones, you're better off getting a Motorola phone like the RAZR or something. you can upload MP3s onto there.
