I have a motorola v3 razr (I know it lags, but that's the only free phone t-mobile provides at that time), and I use Motorola Phone Tools to upload pictures and ringtones. I have used it several times with no problem, but not for some reason when I open Motorola Phone Tools, it keeps initializing and just can't find the connection for my phone. I restarted the computer and it still doesn't work. Yes, I admit that my computer lags when it comes to USB connections, it sometimes doesn't respond to it. Help? Is this my computer's problem or MPT's? pinch.gif

could be your computer. try using a different USB port.

edit::
it could also be a problem with the USB driver, if your phone came with it. try reinstalling it.

I believe you can get a bluetooth dongle, since bluetooth does transfer files a lot faster than a usb cable.

I don't have a RAZR, but I do have a samsung and the same thing happened to me (but with a different program). But then i restarted my compuiter after I unhooked my phone from the cable, then I hooked it back up again and it worked.

I wish I could check my bf's (since he has the same phone), but he doedsn't have the program anymore. sad.gif

It could be the driver--have you check up on any cellphone forums about it?

To test if if your cable is working, see if your phone does charge when hook it up to the usb cable to the computer. Make sure all the settings are correct as you had it before because a change in one of the settings could cause this... Dunno. If anything, try reinstalling the program again.
