Anyone could help me? Im out of idea's. I made a large triangle shape base but i just dont know what to put over it so it can fly. Any suggestions on a base for the egg holder and a base for the flying device, and what kind of string i should use. I cant use duct tape nor peanut better or that kinda stuff. Ahhh I won one of these competitions a few years ago for using the lightest material.
![]() Use a big and light plastic bag (make sure the material is thin enough) to act as a parachute. Tie it onto your base. And for the base, I suggest you to make it spiky so that your egg won't break easily. Like a sea urchin: ![]() Straws would be good (I used them last time) between they're not that hard and somehow flexible. Use masking tape to stick loads of straws sticking out in different directions but MAKE SURE that it won't roll when landing. Good luck with it! |

use something to slow the velocity of the drop like a parachute or something that is light with a large surface area.

also, rice krispies work pretty well, (i won with rice krispies/straws in a styrofoam cup with balloons as padding for the landing area, but this was only a drop of 6m and didnt require it to "fly"; we also had a volume limit) change them after the test runs though lol

Im planning to make a square shape with 8 sticks and tissue paper. Im using yarn as string to hold up my base wich is holding the egg. The base is considered as a milk carton. Under the milik carton im going to put a small balloon so the impact won't effect the base too much. So its a square with 4 bars going down. Think it will work?

Balloon? It might burst when landing.
Just as long as the egg is protected on all sides, it's fine. |

I USED A PINATA! go an buy bubble wrap. really cheap. wrap your egg in bubble wrap and stuff it in a pinata. pinatas are strong. they're meant to be hit. haha works great. i got an a+. =] |

I think I did that in the 5th grade..haha...
Well, Straws and spagghetti works good for this. it keeps the eggs from breaking. You have to tie the straws around with a rubber band and the spagghetti also. |
