I've got a lot of poetry, decided to start my own thread because if I posted them seperately, you'd call me a post whore. I'll be updating this every time a find some of my old poetry...Constructive criticism is appreciated.

-The Flood-

I feel the rain descend,
I feel the beginning of it all,
I feel the black of the distant sky,
I feel the coming call.

I feel the filth of our past,
I feel the scum of our days,
I feel the corrupted stench,
I feel anger for our chosen ways.

I feel the heavenly water,
I feel the sin falling free,
I feel life begin again,
I feel new life for you and me.

I feel the words of the prophet,
I feel the futile cry for aid,
I feel drowned in the flood,
I feel the price we paid.

But we brought this on ourselves,
We brought this curse down,
So let the heavens bleed,
Let us all drown.

Tears of God’s anguish,
Serenade a sea of dark damnation,
Washing away the life he made,
In the brilliant dawn of creation.

I feel the life drop from me,
I feel the pull of the end,
I feel no sorrow for my lost life,
I feel my spirit joyfully transcend…

^^Biblical References^^Genesis Flood^^

-Industrial Town-

Decay and despair are inhaled with the dust
Disturbed by the children who laugh as youth must;
But the hammer will fall and their hearts will be crushed,
For these are the hopeless, these are the cursed.

Teenagers crossing the proverbial track
Find their wings clipped by a knife in the back,
And they turn from the angels with tears in their eyes,
For God is a stranger and Heaven's a lie.

The moon shining high is a face through a shroud.
The streets are all empty - there's no-one around
To comfort an old man with four crusts of bread;
Four crusts between him and a mouthful of lead.

The sweat and the tears of the earth mother sound
As the screams of the silent from deep underground.
Her heart has been crushed, and the scars on her brow
Are the scars of a no-hope industrial town.

Falling from hell, spiralling down;
They're dying in a no-hope industrial town.

-The Toy-

The air smells of copper,
Rancid to the bone.
The sullen sound of liquid,
Dripping is its tone.

Splashes of red fill my mind,
Everywhere I turn.
A bath of blood fills this room,
When will we ever learn?

We murder our own,
We kill and destroy.
Yet guilt does not come,
We remain still and coy.

Gun shots fill the empty night,
The only sound I hear.
The crying of a young child,
I weep a silent tear.

We are humans and yet,
We show no emotion.
The death of another,
Bodies tossed to the ocean.

But I know the truth,
I hear the cries.
They are human too,
With simple blood ties.

We may fight for what we love,
We care not to kill or destroy.
Still I ask please remember,
A human life is not a toy.
