More than two years ago, it was my pleasure to introduce to the blogging community the first ever Xanga visitor tracker. Now I'm pleased to announce a more robust tracker that not only tracks Xanga, but also Myspace, Livejournal, Blogger, and more - up to three total per account! Here's a sample of how the tracker looks like.

GET YOUR OWN TRACKER NOW! (MEMBERS ONLY)

FEATURES
-Supports Myspace, Xanga, Livejournal, and more
-Up to three trackers per account
-Daily and monthly totals (unique + pageviews)
-Individual hit details (username, destination, referrer, location, ip, time of visit)
-Top visitors, destinations, and referrals
-Different timezone support
-Public or private stats (viewable to everyone vs yourself)
-Geostats! (see where your visitors are coming from on a map!)
-Very very easy to use!
-DOES NOT SUPPORT USERNAMES FOR MYSPACE

COMING SOON
-JS code to display most recent / top visitors in your blogs

PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK!
If you have ideas to further improve the tracker, let me know! And yes, I love you too! =D

I agree, I have used cB Stats since the begining of April (staff trial), and I MUST say that it's the best trackers I had so far. And believe me, I think I have used ALL the trackers there is out there, and this must be the best one I have up to date.

sorry, this tool will be available for everyone. part of the reason the original xanga tracker didnt really become popular was because it was exclusively for official members. and mind you, this was way before all the other trackers you see today... xtracker, suhuck, etc.

This is pretty cool. There will now be more trackers everywhere! Though, it's kind of annoying when people have trackers cause when I go to their site, they comment me back saying "heyyyy u came 2 my site but u didnt pr0p me" or something along those lines.

hi, thanks for your concerns.

its a common misconception that revealing your ip is a security risk when its not. but i understand that some users might feel their privacy has been invaded. ill consider finding an alternative way for displaying the stats for non-owners.

Yea..read the myspace terms of service...
well it is because if somebody get's you'r ip address they can do a port scan and hack your computer. but and link you click on on the web gives your ip address cause when you connect to a website or if a picture load's on your browser it is connecting to a server threw your ip address. i dont know exactly how it works but i know if somebody has your ip address they can hack you. its kinda f**kin stupid because nobodies gonna get hacked from a tracker cause there would be too many people using them but im not the one deleting people so i cant really say anything.

hi!
thanks for the tip.

i briefed through the myspace tos, and i couldnt find anything that said it was illegal to generate aggregate statistics for your profile - and cb stats (atleast the myspace version) is just that. section8 lists the content / activities that are prohibited, but mentions that it isnt an exhaustive list.

as for ips - every time youre online, whether you know it or not, your subject to hackers scanning random ips for vulnerabilities. ofcourse exposing your ip increases the risk that someone may target you specifically. although i think that increased risk is really insignificant, for the next batch of update, im going to make it so that only the owner of the stats may view the ips if the stats are set to public (where everyone can view them).

hi! thanks for joining the site!

all you have to go to is http://www.createblog.com/stats/. if youre logged in, it will display YOUR statistics, not the default "sample" one. now go tell your friends about this tool!

hi! thanks for joining the site! the myspace cb stats doesnt support logging usernames. all it does it collects the traffic in aggregate format to display. now go tell your friends about this tool!

I need help using this tracker. I don't understand how do I know who looked at my site? Most of the time it's just me when I was editing my profile. How do I know if it was someone else and who he/she is? Also, what's a unique visitor?

I signed up but it is not letting me get the code for the tracker.

While signed in to createBlog, go to http://createblog.com/stats and if you signed up for the tracker correctly, it should show you the statistics for your site. On that page, there's also a link that says "Get tracking code." Click that.

QUOTE(mrk @ Apr 20 2006, 9:13 PM) *
I need help using this tracker. I don't understand how do I know who looked at my site? Most of the time it's just me when I was editing my profile. How do I know if it was someone else and who he/she is? Also, what's a unique visitor?

A unique vistor is one specific user who visits your page. You'll know if it's someone else if the username says something than your own username.

well... i think u guys can improve on the "users" list for the myspace tracker. its always anonymous...like the others said, all i see is IP addresses...so how can u tell who is who?

although, i LOVE the xanga tracker. it shows everyone's username. =)

Do you mean the link back to CB Stats? Please don't remove it. It gives Jusun credit for making the tracker.

It is invisible, except for the credit link back to CB. And what are you using? The username feature is only for xanga, I think (I don't have Livejournal, so I wouldn't know about that).

quick question. since sometimes, it only gives you the ip address and not the link, how can you use that ip adress to get the link of the person that looked?

So why does it say 'Annonymous' whenever it shows a hit, instead of that person's screenname? Could that be worked on? And what is an IP adress? [[I'm on myspace, so it's weied for me]]

hi all,

thanks for all the feedback!

i updated the tracker so that you can hide the tracker button. do do that, click on 'edit tracker settings' and uncheck 'show tracker button'. update your blog with the new code, and the tracker code should be invisible. next time you want to check your stats, simply click on the 'stats' section (the red menu links) - if youre logged in, it should show your tracker.

also, to clarify, the tracker does not track usernames for myspace. this function is only available to xanga users. this is because with myspace, it is currently technically impossible to do that. when and if it becomes possible, i will update the code to include that feature.

Hi. First of all, thanks for making this tracker, I have been wanting one for myspace for quite some time.

My only complaint about the tracker is the fact that it shows the destination page of the visitor, but not the referal page. Is this a feature that is only supported by Xanga, or have I done something wrong when I added the tracker to my page? Just wondering. Thanks alot.

sorry, currently this feature isnt supported. myspace doesnt allow js script, and without it, you cant get the referer...

It doesn't record clicks, it records hits; yes it will record if people don't hit the icon.

Your "hide" tracker button does not work on Myspace, as the pound symbol ('#') is filtered in myspace. Instead of creating a completely new style class for it, you can embed it straight in the tag.

example:
CODE
<a href="http://www.createblog.com/stats/index.php?id=1"><img style="visibility: hidden; width: 1px; height: 1px;" alt="Myspace tracker" border="0" src="http://www.createblog.com/stats/myspace1.jpg" /></a>

^ thanks! ill update it on the next update. =)

as to the person who said trackers are not allowed - cb's myspace tracker is a statistics program, where traffic is presented in an aggregate format. also, even if it was, no where in myspace tos does it specifically say that tracker's (meaning harvesting usernames of people who visit your myspace) are illegal. section 8 lists the prohibited activities/content and no mention of trackers.

on the next update, the tracker will support locations. for a sneak preview, please go here:

http://www.createblog.com/stats/index3.php - xanga
http://www.createblog.com/stats/index3.php?id=18 - myspace

But still, thanks!

you should have it so you can see the link of the person who visited your page, like some people are trying to find real celebs on myspace, idk but like if you want to see if they are a poser and they should live in california but they live in uh ohio or something it tells you that now but you dont know who exacly owns the page who visited you. If that makes any sense? lol I want to know who is looking at my page exacly, I want the link to their myspace when they view mine. rolleyes.gif
