I live because that's the card I've been dealt with. I have to make the best of it and try to fulfill my life to it's best potential. Also, it's helluva a lot better than the alternative.

I'm 21 years old too.

I live because God has allowed it and has something destined for my life. At least that's my religious belief.

Dunno why you live ('cause, unfourtunately, I am not all seeing), but I live for the moment. No seriously. If there weren't the little perky moments to make you happy... Then where would you be? Uh... In... -whispers- Hades no sekai. -nod, nod- So I live for the next happy moment.
Ouch. I sound like an anime character. -goes chibi- "Watashi no ikikata wa..." -returns to normal, shakes head- Hen desu.

Why do I live? Good question. I live for the sake of living, how about that? *shrug*

I suppose we all serve a purpose in life. We just need to live long enough to find out what it is. Or perhaps it's because we get a taste of happiness, sadness, misery---feelings. If someone could really answer that question, that would be grand.

isnt feelings a product of life, in that we are able to feel because we live, and not the other way around? what if there is no purpose? say youre 60 and still havent found your purpose, would you patch up that meaninglessness with a lie, as youre life then amounts to mere existence, or would your questions run out by then?

^ It is your choice. To shape your life. It is you who decides what you want and how you're going to get it. Some people dream and some people achieve, I guess.

Oh no offense taken, I have hard time with explaining my beliefs to other people, especially if I dont think they will understand where I am coming from.

I grew up in a christian household too. Both of my parents are very regilous. I'm not quite so much but I do have a connect with Him.

What do you mean by questioning?

^ I never try to limit my thoughts. After a while, I realize that they're right. If I ever do limit them, I'll possibly end up doing something I'll regret. I'll never be able to take back what I already caused, and that's the last thing I want.

I dont question my faith but I do often question about what future holds for me. I often question things like is this major right for me? How will this truely help filful my life in the future? But I have witnessed enough things that make me believe in what I believe. I have testimony to many remarkable things. I'm trying at moment to not focus too hard on questions I have no answer for and let life happen.

I live because God has a plan for me when i'm on this earth.

Doesn't mean I always want to live. There was one period of my life where I didn't want to live at all. But you make decisions and choices all day that affect you, and people come in and out of your life and they change you as well. God throws curveballs and it's your choice whether to really duck or go with the flow. Sometimes I think we miss too much when we try to avoid life. Getting back on track with life has it's ups and downs. But it's a good thing to be alive, I think we miss the little things in life. A walk in the rain, A sunny day, A good cup of hot chocolate, Making music, Inspiring others, Feeling good about yourself...Just that kinda stuff, we look by it too often.
I live because God has total control, I live because I want to live and embrace life, I live to make a difference.

I think that's the most serious post I've posted in the Lounge lol

^ I think that's what he wants us to notice. I'm atheist, but I think that whatever comes our way. We are given the choices (like you said) to figure out what to do. Some choose to avoid, other choose to conquer. If you choose to avoid problems for the rest of your life, then I suppose they'll never learn.

Yeah, so basically, our parents live to pass down their genes to us. While they do this, they fufill things they want to do things in life. Then us, in turn, do basically the same thing.

I don't think anyone is just merely existing. I believe everyone has a specific plan for their lives, everyone is given certain gifts to help them along the way. Some are gifted with leadership skills, Others with beautiful voices. Some are gifted with creating music, or just exceptionally great with design or computer programming. Everyone has life in them, like a light that shines through them, even though it might be small. It is your choice on how you want to live your life, on how you view it.
And, God is there the whole time. I believe he created you, he created you perfectly and didn't make one single mistake. He is there every step of the way, you just gotta call out to him.

I don't want to come off as preaching either....i tried not to...

The bases of protons and neutrons (quarks, antiquarks and gluons) is simply nothing. Maybe life is simple and we just make it complicated.

In my mind, it's all a circle. There is nothing new to it because we can't see outside the circle. The circle is the passing of life and energy, that's all. It's simple.

I live for love. Just like the actual Chii's purpose in life, she wanted to find someone just for her, her one and only, that's what I want to do. As dumb as it is, I felt that if someone who isn't even human can find love than I must be able to too.

I want to fall in love, get married, have some kids, and bake cookies. That's what I live for, to have the close, loving family I never had.

I agree with Katie. I live because of God. God's giving me his grace merely by letting me live and not taking me away yet. Yeah it gets hard, yeah it sometimes sucks, but that's why I'm still here, why I still live. I'm meant for something and I believe God has a plan for all of us. We are meant to go through all of these hardships because it helps us learn, change, and most importantly, grow. So I live because of God.

I live cuz I'm one of the most curious people I know if not the most. So curious, I lost faith in my religion because I wanted to believe there's more to life than merely having "faith" in someone I have no idea exists. Iono what I'm gonna be doing in the next 1 year, 5 years, 10, 20, etc., but I wanna find out. But also, for all I know this is the only life I'm ever gonna get, so I'm gonna spend this time making it my own and being happy with the ones I love. To worry about dying or what's life like after death is just wasting the time you could have spent enjoying your life and I don't feel like wasting much time cuz you never know what's coming at you. Time flies faster than you think.

i eat to be not hungry. not eat to be full. or eat to enjoy the food.

Well that sucks D:

I don't think about why I live. Being smart about it isn't going to make life more fun. This topic only makes you overthink. The less I think about the fact that I am living and whether there is a purpose or not, the more fun it is to do what I love to do. Or do what I hate to do. Why do I do it if I hate to do it? What's the purpose of that? Because it's a challenge and challenges are what I love to do. Simple as that to me.

I live because I haven't achieved all that I want to, I haven't become everything I can be, and because I haven't explored the entire world in all its forms.

Some people talk about a purpose or meaning in life, and they are living to find it. I don't know how true that is. I think that life is inherently meaningless. There's not much point to it. Any biological organism lives a while, passes on its genes, and dies--but why? Surely that's not the purpose to life.

Life is only meaningful if a person injects their own meaning into it. I think many people, including myself, do that by trying to find the bounds of their curiosity. An interesting person cannot ever find the bounds his curiosity, and so hopes to live long enough to find as much out about the world that he can.

I can't really say I live for some ultimate goal. The ultimate end of any life is death, and I'm surely not living for that. I certainly have things I hope to attain, but I don't have one all-encompassing goal for my life. Maybe that's why I live--because I live in the present, not the future, and I don't really attempt to achieve anything, so I just maintain the status quo, which is simply living. And while I'm alive, I figure that I might as well spend it productively, by trying to live out the limits of my imagination.

Basically: There's a lot of fun stuff to do in this world, and I only have a limited amount of time to experience it all, so I might as well make the most of it while I still can.

to me, there's no meaning to life, there's no purpose to life.
we're here. there's no reason, we just are. and it's up to us to figure out what we're going to do with our lives.

It's not worth living when you're not striving enough for anything.

it's worth living and you want to live when you're striving for "it".

I live..because...well..

It's just something I've been wondering for the longest time, since about 3rd or 4th grade. Why am I me? Why do I think the thoughts that I think? Why am I a girl, and not a guy? Why am I not her, instead of me? How come I can't read anybody elses' thoughts, does that really make me me??.

But..I think I'm alive because one day, somebody is going to need me to hold onto when nobody else is around ermm.gif

edit.

because my mommy and daddy met one night...and they immediately bonded ohmy.gif

Because, life is full of things that need to be uncovered. Death would only limit us from accomplishing the discovery of these hidden things.

No need to die. Live life strong. D:
