Having (finally) finished mastering a DVD for a professor's lecture, I am currently sitting in a study area of my university's library, waiting for the professor to come. There is a massive thunderstorm outside. My library has an open, central spiral staircase granting access to all five levels. This atrium is topped with an arched glass roof.
Sitting here, I've found that the sound of the rain hammering the roof, as well as the flashes of light in the background, have a peaceful effect. It's very rhythmic and relaxing. Today was what most would call a dreary day, but I've always liked cloudy, even stormy days—the sense of impending rain builds a palpable tension, and when the rain finally comes, it's with a soothing release of stress. It's been a long week, but I'm quite delighted with the outcome. How do you feel about rain? Do you prefer sunshine or stormy weather? Or do you like something different, like snow or hail? Does the weather alter your sense of how you feel about the world? |

Even though sunny days are nice, I love the rain. It's kinda peaceful and helps me sleep at night, better than the dead silence.

Rain gives me this calm aura at night when I find sleep inevitable. I enjoy the hammering and chattering of the rain hitting my window as I doze off into my slumber.
When the rain stops, i'm back in hell. |

Wow Michael and Hez, deep.
When I hear the rain I'm reminded of that nursery rhyme "rain rain go away" and I feel a bit happy. Because usually after a rainstorm or just rain, the sun will shine brightly and more beautifully than other sunrises. <--corny |

I don't like it when it's dark, gloomy, and rainy. I do, however, like it when it's only raining, and not actually storming.

I don't prefer thunderstorms or the rain pounding on my window, but a light rain really calms me. Sitting on my balcony while it's drizzling outside gives me a really tranquil feeling. Generally though when it rains, I feel gloomy and sad. Sunshine is most appealing to me if I'm walking outside right after sunrise and the light is peeping through the trees. I love that feeling.

wow, you reminded me so much of one of my friends just then. he loves stormy weather. i really like rain when i just feel the need to sit at home and relax because i like to listen to the rain and look around to watch the rain drops slide off my window. it really is relaxing. sometimes it makes me tired though and that's when i have some of my best naps. i like nice weather though, it enhances my mood

i love really slight drizzles in warm weather. that smell of rain comes out and you get just a little wet and it cools you down so much. it's so peaceful, even when i'm in the big city. everything just seems more serene.

I love when it rains, or when it's about to rain and everything's grey and harsh. It's emotional...nice. I also really love lightning when it's purple. That's way cool.

Okay, so Reili has super-fine hair. Like you could thread it through a needle no sweat. I've done it before. Anyways, so loves loves loves rain. Except when she's out in the rain. Then rain becomes her MORTAL ENEMY! Because no matter how much Reili likes wet, wet hir is no fun. It sticks to her face like glue. Really. ---- So, uh, I really like rain and there was no point in the rest of the post. I wrote an essay once about how I couldn't do my essay because I left it out on the patio. That was fun. |

I don't like rain. I hate the smell of it, I hate how it gets so humid, and I hate getting rain.
I like it when it's sunny but with wind. When it's raining or whatever, I get really gloomy. I like staying inside when it's raining, snowing, etc. It feels really... home-y. |

i loveee the rainnn <3 its one of my favorite weathers..lol..i love bad weather.. and it does make me see the world differently when its raining..i especially love rain storms and the drizzle through fog and myst..i love myst..hence the myst part in my name..loll..anyyways. rain <3 it makes the air smell so much cleaner and it puts me back in touch with nature b/c i see like..the lil droplets on each blade of grass..and..oh rain is just lovely

One time last year, actually, it was my first weekend as a college student, and there was this really wicked thunderstorm going and I lived on the top floor of my dorm (there are 16). It was terrifying, I've never heard anything that loud in my life. - - - I like rain, sometimes, it all depends on how I feel at the time. When I worked at Six Flags last summer, I prayed for rain. Rain caused the rides to close down, as well as cool off everything. Yes, it does.
Apparently I think better under artificial light, which means at night. Also humid and warm weather makes me feel very drowsy. I'm more awake in freezing weather (with sufficient clothing of course). |

I prefer sunshine mostly, but I don't mind the rain. I like it when its a light pour...its fun to dance around in as long as what I'm wearing won't get ruined.
 I don't like storms too much though.
