i was sooo excited to get to high school to see what the hallways were like. how everyone would be in the hallways putting books then guys lean on the lockers and girl have mirrors and the hallways are just busy with people just like in the movies or on television. then i get to my high school. it's like completely quiet in the hallways. we have lockers but no one except a few people uses them. i was so bummed. we have to carry our books around campus the whole day. how are your hallways like?

uh, pretty much like how you describe it,.
lol, its not all that great-really. It's loud, crowded, and stinky (expecially when they just got out of gym!) It's mixed with sweats and cheap perfume/cologne in the afternoon and after lunch!
but wow, your hall is quite? how is that possible?

A tmy school, we don't use the lockers.. I don't know why though. We only have p.e. lockers. pinch.gif The halls are either crowded, or deserted since we can't go inside during break or lunch. No one can really hang out there since we only have 4 minutes to get to class.

Concrete ground, sometimes puddles during/after rainy days.
My campus is outside. I wish I have the inside ones though.

I guess you can say that the hallways at my school kinda resemble the ones on tv/movies. We do have lockers that people go to, and between classes, it can get really loud/noisy as students move from place to place.

The hallways at my middle school were terrible! The ones now are a lot easier to get through. It reminds me of driving; stay on the right. biggrin.gif

The hallways in our north building look like this:

Of course, this is the school at 6-something in the afternoon, so the hallways are empty. Pretty much everyone uses the lockers in our school, so when it's time to change classes it gets pretty crowded around here.

Our lockers..really aren't like those in tv shows. We only have 5 minutes between classes, so depending on where your locker is, it can be hard to get there more than once a day (I don't actually keep anything in my locker most of the time because it's so out of the way I can only get there once a day, and that doesn't do me much good, so I wind up carrying everything around or hiding books in the band room). Some people have mirrors, but not all that many because it's just not that helpful, especially if you have a bottom locker (which is another unfortunate point, that we have half lockers you can't fit all that much in, and if you get a bottom one, you're pretty much skrewed). However, my main point is that it's not at all a social thing like they're made out to be. The halls are far from quiet, but there's a good deal more people moving than not. Defintely better than middle school, though, because then they were tiny and inside our homerooms.

hm well..my school has 10 floors and each floor is assigned to a certain graade ..freshmns have lockers on the upper floors and so on down..so when i was a frshmn - jr ..there wasnt much of the flirting thing going on.. b/c my school is a nerdy study study school.. but now im a senior and we have the entire cozy 2nd floor to ourselves with a bunch of hidden nooks and crannies ..so now there r guys leaning on lockers flirting with girls with mirrors and guys and girls cuddling in front of lockers and stuff like that

our hallways r pretty cool... i get to see alot of my friends in the hallways..pretty fun..and then we have escalators...so we wave hi to each other on the way..its pretty noisy and loud

and our hallway walls are flooded with brightly colors flyers for clubs ..events..and happy bday flyers and there r glass dislay showcases on the other side where theres all these trophies and historical stuff about out school.. we used to have pictures of half naked gay guys and lesbians making out in one of the displays for a few years.. it was for the GLASS (Gay Lesbian and Straight spectrum club) but i guess a parent complained..

oh..and a cool thing is ..in the walls of the hallways..we have square glass tiles and there r like..souvenier things in there..from past years and also other stuff like cool rocks and chemicals and photos.. its pretty entertaining to look at when ur bored in the hallways. there r like..1000 of those glass tiles in school..lol..

our hallways are crazy during passing periods, especially the stairways and intersections, what's must annoying is when people stop right in the middle of the hall to talk, and then everybody has to part like the Red Sea..

well the lockers are in the classrooms (but their so tiny you can't fit your algebra book in them) so there's really not much to tell. maybe a water fountain here or there, but that's pretty much it. o well i still like it though wink.gif

I have an outdoor school so the hallways are huge. There's usually a lot of people in it and we have a lot of lockers around in different sections.

Insanely crowded. You could seriously leap off the stairs and land in a pile of bodies. The Washington Post actually published an article on how overcrowded our school is... scary.

We only get THREE minutes to go to each class. The school is hella big, but it's really a huge rectangle. There are halls on the sides and in the middle there is a really big place for lockers and stuff. It's really crowded and people usually just go to their lockers, get their books, then leave because most people don't want to be late for class. it smells like guys' cologne/deodorant the most, ugh.

It's pretty much like a normal hallway. With classes on the sides, and lockers.
We have 3 floors, with 2nd floor as the main floor. I dont have a locker. Someone found out my combination and started to use it without caring who the original user was.
Anyway, i like our hallways. it's bright and clean. Plus, it smells clean...like an air-conditioned auditorium. Plus, it has over 40 camera in the hallways. Wherever you go in the hallways, you'll see cameras. Hah. high-tech school.

MEH
.SMELLY
.SUPER CROWDED
.FULL OF FRESHMEN WHO DONT KNOW HOW TO WALK CONTINUOUSLY
.FULL OF PEOPLE WHO STOP RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HALL AND MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO MOVE
.WITH PEOPLE WHO DONT ALWAYS SMELL GOOD
.VERY WET AND SLIPPERY WHEN IT RAINS
.&& ALSO CAKED IN MUD.
.OH;;
.IF YOU HAVE A BOTTOM LOCKER IN MY SCHOOL AND YOU ARE TRYING TO GET IN IT WHEN PEOPLE ARE IN THE HALL YOU WILL GET TRAMPLED.

pfft some of you have cool schools (the 10 story one) but mine is like really congested. the school is nice, sorta its like been a construction zone though for the past year but you get used to it. its so funny though sometimes at intersections there is like so much friction from 10 million people trying to go different ways at the same time its like a big bottle of pressure and the lid pops and you're out of the intersection. lol

i'm in a junior high, and our lockers are 1 per person, but they're half sized and maroon colored lol. lots of people (jerks usually) always block the hall and never move. some couples make out right in front of you... sometimes guys will start mini fights and i get pushed a lot stubborn.gif

There are ups & downs to having crowded school hallways.

PROS:
1. You get to see your friends that aren't in your classes.
2. You have SOME reason for being late to class.
3. Other social reasons.

CONS:
1. There are those damn couples that walk soooo damn slow in front of you, making you wicked late to class.. & at the same time making you feel like shit when you have nobody to walk with.
2. You see people you don't like at the same time.
3. That may include your ex-boyfriend.. or a boy you have a huge crush on.

But wow! You guys get like 5-10 minutes between classes. We only get 3, & some kids have to go from the first to the third floor. In fact we aren't even allowed to go to our lockers between class unless we have PE or lunch. We do anyways rolleyes.gif

well.. the halls in general are what you said

My hall was different though known as the party hall ( music hall) everyone would never leave that where people would go to miss their classes because it;s the art hall no one would notice and when it came to change classes even more crowded gah... it took forever to get to my locker than there always garbage. the other halls no one goes to their locker/hall there always empty.

horrible. 5 minutes break to get to class. but we had seventeen hundred this year. so they extended it to 6 minutes. yet you can still be late if you don't pack your stuff quickly and stopped to talk to people. that is, if you get stuck in the biggest traffic jam at the T intersection at my school. the school is quite small than the average high schools (+ it's over 50 years old. only 10 years ago, it was a farmland. then it turned into a town and even more urbanized now 'cause of the rich people) and shouldn't be able to hold that many students (32+ students in each class! stupid ib program and the fact that the school has a really high reputation). so that means if you were to get to another class by passing the intersection, you had to run outdoors, cut through the parking lot and some of the field in the back. not fun in the winter when it's slippery and a car can come by or you would fall and nobody would know. or simply getting kidnapped. but thank goodness at times like those, people were around and it wasn't during the winter.

VERY crowded. Our school has over 3000 students and staff, its over the capacity already and the school is only 3 years old. Anyway, the hallways like I said before are crowded, and all the stupid people stand in the middle of hallway talking to their friends during passing period doesnt help. I usually see a couple making out in the corner. Someone's ass is usually grabbed, a fight breaks ever so often. Just a typical highschool... _dry.gif

there's only 2 hallways and they're not too crowded. except after 5th period there is usually a jam. they're really small too. there's lockers on one wall and the other wall has doors to classrooms. and where the 2 halls join there's a bathroom. nothing exciting.

UGH; the hallways are always crowded especially this bridge connecting the old building to the new building! Whoever built the bridge was bobo, seriously... it's pretty because it's just made out of glass where you can see outside but it's so small and people end up bumping into everyone. The lockers, I think, is better. The lockers at my school are really tall and wide so it isn't much of a hassle.

Alot like your first description with a bit more rated r material. We have a lot of making out, even though it's not allowed. People throw stuff lockers get stuff stuck on them... see.. our hallways are kind of small and we have one of the biggest schools population wise in the state, so it's pretty crowded and loud. Someoine once threw a toilet paper roll at the sprinkler head and it went off. haha, we got a good laugh at that cause it was passing time and people got soaked.

my school hallways are crap. They are small and cramped so there's no room to walk. It isn't tiled it's FREAKING CARPET so there's no "hallway" feel to it. We have lockers, but they are ORANGE. and it's..just not the ideal image of a hallway.

well heres the thing with my school, we have our school, but we have demolished half of it and built a whole newer one.I LOVE IT SO MUCH. our old school/other half of the building will be just like our new one but later on in the future, so our hallways in our older part of our school ARE GROSS and smelly and has no lights, so we'll be walking in dark ,no floor, no ceiling halls.our lockers are tiny and my backpack cant fit in it, and for our new school, omg everyones there, the hallways are clean and lockers are humugnous.on the ceiling we have digital clocks that count down when we go to classes and bells.guys are like on the windows all lined up and i hate that, everyone stares at you when walking the hall.

pretty and stuffed with cameras.
our lockers are painted purple, and the work by art students are displayed on the walls in shadow boxes. there's an occasional mural, and in the main hall there's a glass display case with sculptures and 3-d things there. bulletin boards and posters are everywhere.

i love my school blush.gif

A tmy school, we don't use the lockers.. I don't know why though. We only have p.e. lockers. pinch.gif The halls are either crowded, or deserted since we can't go inside during break or lunch. No one can really hang out there since we only have 4 minutes to get to class.

yea i agree with tina..mine is the same as the way she describes it..
