I'm looking for a good host, but I can't decide which... This is what I need/want...:

- a domain
- hosting or whatever it is, lol
- PHP4 + support
- a mySQL database
- one that provides at least 1 e-mail with domain ( I think all/most domains come with emails..)
- comes with web statistics
- good amount of space & bandwidth
- not too expensive --- yearly payments, not monthly and is secure/trustworthy/reliable
- good support 24/7

I think that's pretty much all I need...

Go with Netrillium. I'm not sure if it has PHP4, but it has good packages with very reasonable prices, and pretty much everything else you listed. That's who I'm with right now.

I'm with dreamhost, and have been with them since October, and have no problems.
And with a google-able [heh] coupon code, it could be..uh..really cheap! Hah. I payed 9 dollars for mine, but I don't think you could find it that cheap, anymore..close, though.
Anyway--I don't know if the recent upgrade will have any effect on its service, but I haven't noticed anything.
One thing, though:
Their mysql databases take a while to set up because, I think, they're manually created/approved by a staff member. So if you're an insomniac, awake at 4AM wanting to test something and you need to create a database, it might make you angry..mellow.gif.

Other than that, they're very good.

Then I'd probably get angry... lol

Netrillium has domains separate from hosting though.. Preferably something with both. That would be good.

Also, I've seen some people pricing some of their graphics... isn't that not allowed..? ermm.gif

Hmm, what do you mean? Here or in general? I don't see why it would be a problem if they've created it.

And the database thing can be frustrating, but if you've created a few databases before, and are awake at that time, you can still work with them.
[shrug]. I wouldn't have let it deter me from purchasing hosting from them if I had known.

I agree with Julie though. I paid 22 dollars for mine with a domain with alot of space. I had them or a couple weeks now. The database thing doesn't take THAT long. They are good in my opinion plus cheap with alot of space. Just look at the plans.

But for P.S. If you google so far I've read they were ok, I don't know personally. You can read reviews of them from diff websites..
Just google "pixelled solutions hosting reviews" you'll get some.

I just googled it and it showed some good reviews on P.S., but I googled another hosting/domain site that I found and was interested in.... it had bad reviews except on the pricing of it. It was rated that the support isn't good and stuff but the pricing is. They have some cool features, but if the support isn't good then what's the point. sad.gif It says they're not reliable. Hmm... something around $5 - $40 a year w/ domain.. most of the ones I've found are around $15 - $40 a year with the domain and they've got pretty good features that I could use.

Edit// I just found a good host with all the features I was looking for. It had really good reviews so I thought I'd try it out. It has a pretty good price for all the features it has.

(off-topic-ness ---- I don't know why this always happens, but it seems everytime I post a topic and get replies, I end up finding what I needed on my own before someone else posts again with what I actually needed... so then I just end up saying nevermind, I found it, thanks and close this topic... sooo, I'm sorry if it's annoying or something (if this even makes sense or if you even noticed it)))

Well, I am going to sell to you. Black Hawk Data Services has many amazing plans.

We can offer domains for $7.00 a year, or a optional $1 a month added to your hosting plan if you do not want to purchase it upfront.

We have many plans, www.blackhawkdata.com has them listed

You are allowed Unlimited MySQL databases with our hosting. You also have unlimited emails and such with any plan.

Web Stats can be viewed through cPanel, which in itself is amazing.

I can offer your discounts and such if you email me or IM me. Currently our "Basic" plan is $10.00 a month. It comes with 5 gigs of space, and 40 gigs of B/W. If you contact me I would be willing to slice off a few bucks.

Our ticket system is getting worked on right now, should be back up within a day or two. We also offer support via phone, and IM progs. We offer 24/7 with a response time guarantee of 2-3 hours. Most likely you will get a answer faster than that, but it depends on the time of night, and day and such. Our support is done through Platinum Server Management to our end users, they have direct access to our server. So they can answer any question you have.

Our site is still getting worked on some what, all links are working though..

There are alot of people on this forum that hosting throught me.....

Thanks,
Garrett

I hope you were not looking @ http://hosting.illegally.nu/ , as I have told x Mikestah. hosting.illegally.nu is on a Reseller Plan.

We offer cheap domain hosting. All accounts are hosted on my reseller.

This means they have hosting through another company. I can guarantee you that her host is overselling there server space and bandwidth. Plus, she offers a "unlimited MB unlimited GB plan" I can tell you know she can't offer it truly. She does not own the server, so she does not know how big of hard drive they have, and how much bandwidth they offer. The TOS of her host I am sure has a limit on how much space she is offered and how much band width she can use, even if they sell there reseller plan as “Unlimited” or “Unmeterd”.

I could be wrong on a few things, but I am sure I know it too good to be true.
