cool.gif Here is my site: http:\\www.myspace.com/davidpoggi

I would like to do 3 more things and need help with them all. I'm a myspace newb.

1. Move the mp3 player to the far left and move it up right under the contacts table so it looks better. (Note, I have the myspace url hidden.)

2. I'd like to move the whole friends section up to the top right so it's even with my picture. (I have the extended network and blogs hidden there.)

3. After I move my friends to the top right, I have a picture I'd like to place just below the friends table. It is a big picture, probably about 10 inches long and as wide as the whole column.

If you can help me on any of these items please let me know. I would be happy to provide you with the code I have for my page so far if you need to see it to help me on these issues.

Thanks again,
David

There are probly other ways to do what your asking but ..

To move the mp3 player I would think you could just put it in a div and move the div coordinates till you get it where you want it?

To move your friends just use this script, It should move them up as well..
http://www.createblog.com/scripts/download.php?id=30

For the other picture you will have to use a div..

I'm such a newb that I don't know what a div is or does. Can you give me an example code based on how my page looks that I can use to move my mp3 player up and to the left? Thanks for answering and any future help. David

I tried that code you gave me to move my friends up. Thanks for the help so far. You can see the results. I would still like to move it up to where my hidden "extended network" and "blogs" section is. I guess on the page that's about two more inches, so it's even with the top of my snowboarding pic.

Friends list:
You need to change the number "190" in the code to a smaller number till you get your friends list where you want them.

Now for the music player not sure if divs would work its just my suggestion.
Divs are frames , that position content , images, etc where you want them.

Div layout exs:
http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=122977
http://www.createblog.com/layouts/download.php?id=8549

I would say that you can try placing your music player code in the following code and play around with the coordinates. ( Coordinates are where it says 00px, and put random numbers there till you get the music player where you want it) There may be an easier way but I don't know of one so if you want to try divs out go for it.
CODE
<div class="content" style="position: absolute; left:000px;  top:000px; width:000px; height:000px; overflow: auto;">MUSIC PLAYER CODE HERE!
</div>

Then put the whole code in who'd I like to meet then play around w/ the coordinates till youg et it where you want it.

Thanks for the help. I will try what you said. I already have some experience with the whole % and px positioning because I used it to mess around with a background. I'll go try what you said now and write more in awhile. Thanks again.

So far no luck. This is what I have for the div and player code inserted where you said. I can't even get the player to appear on the page anymore.

<div class="content" style="position: absolute; left:000px; top:800px; width:400px; height:600px; overflow: auto;"><embed allowScriptAccess="never" src='http://www.surfourspace.net/mp3player/flashplayer.swf' menu='false' quality='high' width='300' height='380' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer' flashvars='playList=http://www.surfourspace.net/mp3player/010306/87bf41433c28fc932c49c68477af9c69.xml' wmode='transparent' border='0'></EMBED></div>

Any ideas? Thanks, David

Ah ha! Sweet, lovely progress! Thanks so much for your help so far! I think I have used a div to get the mp3 player where I want it and friends looks good too. So 2 out of 3 done! Now, I'd like to get rid of or cover the blue links and red dots above my huge picture in the bottom-right corner. Can you give me one last example div script that I can use to move the picture up? I'd like it to cover those red dots and the blue words right below my friends and above the huge picture. Thanks dooood!

I'd like that huge picture in the bottom right to be just a little under Jeremy's picture and cover up all those words. If you can give me an example div to include the picture instead of an mp3 player, I think I will be done once I get the dimensions correct.

I think I need to do a div for that bottom-right picture so I can cover the words on top. Right now I have it as a background pic using this:

<style type="text/css">
table, td {
background-color:transparent;
border:none;
border-width:0;}

body {
background-color: 000000;
background-image: url('http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f155/djdaveoc/DaveFlyer.jpg');
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: 86% 91%;}
</style>

So since it's a background, the text above will cover it and show if I move the background pic up.

Nevermind bro. I think I solved my own problem. I'm going to move the friends way down to the bottom right and that will take those ugly red dots and blue words to the far bottom-right corner too. I'm leaving my flyer as a background and moving it with % instead of px to the top-right. So people will just have to scroll down to view my friends I guess.

Well if you can still give me a sample div to cover up the ugly stuff in the bottom-right that would be cool. Thanks for all the help! David

Well Toyo Loco, we did pretty good. I'd say my page is almost exactly the way I wanted it to be with a few exceptions. I'd like to add white bold text above my friends table that says "David's friends:" and I'd still like to cover up the bottom right red dots if possible. Thanks again.

Remember not to double post and use the edit button :)

Sorry I wasn't on to help with the other problems but what red dots are you talking about? I only see red text.
Also your name and friends show their just black if you want custom text under your banner in who'd I like to meet or w/e you can write it.

My friends are now down in the bottom right. I would like to add the text "David's friends" right above the top four pictures. Also, when I view my profile using IE 6 I don't see any red text, I only see a few red dots down in the bottom right above where the bottom blue links are. Is there a way to hide those bottom blue links and the red dots?

I'm already using the following to get rid of most of the text I didn't want on my page:

<style type="text/css">
.orangetext15 {display:none; visibility:hidden;}
.lightbluetext18 {display:none; visibility:hidden;}
.redtext{display:none; visibility:hidden;}
.redbtext{display:none; visibility:hidden;}
.whitetext12{display:none; visibility:hidden;}
.blacktext10{display:none; visibility:hidden;}
.lightbluetext8{display:none; visibility:hidden;}
</style>

Is there a website which lists all these different colors and what their name is? Like .blacktext10 for example? I've never found a place that has a list of all these colors. I've only found a list of the hex colors like 000000 for black.

For a website , I don't know of one but if you take the stylesheet by dismantled it tell you what each thing is.

About your friends .. the orrange text would show them but your hiding it. I don't have IE so I can't help you w/ the red dots but try
CODE
.redlink{display:none;}

add to style tags.

Hey that .redlink worked to get rid of the red dots. Thanks. If I unhide my orange text I know it can make the text appear, but would there be any way to change it to white after I unhide it? I think orange is ugly and don't want any orange text on the page. Thanks again.
Well I take that back, it unhides some other orange text as well. So I guess I need to find a way to just add a white text above the friends table that says "David's friends".

CODE
.orangetext15{font-family: arial; color:FFFFFF; font-weight: bold; font-size: 20px; letter-spacing: -2px;}

Well I just decided I don't want to mess with the page anymore now that it looks pretty good in my opinion. I figured out that if you use the % instead of px to position a background, it will change how the page looks on different screen resolutions. So I'm going to change this:

background-position: 86% 29%;}

to this:

background-position: 477px 186px;}

And that still makes the background picture move when I view the screen in different resolution sizes. Toyo or anyone do you know how to make it stay alligned with my friend table no matter what resolution someone views my page in? Thanks.

eh Some people say you can add !important to parts of your code to keep it staying put.
Ex:
http://www.createblog.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=123915
you can try that out.

Otherwise I don't know if you can keep it from moving any other way. Unless you use a div which would be the following code and aligning it where you want it:
CODE
<div class="content" style="position: absolute; left:000px;  top:000px; width:000px; height:000px; overflow: auto;"><center>
lalalalala this is your content!
</div>

where it says content you can do <img src="bgimgurlhre"> and then play w/ the 00px tilly ou get it where you want it?

eh..
