Xanga Layouts and Javascript? Options

This has really been bugging me and I've searched all over the Internet and many other sites like this, but I can't find the answer. Quite a while ago, I found a layout site on Xanga that had layout scripts, but they were in Javascript. The script worked perfectly fine, but looked nothing like the CSS scripts that are typically used. Could anyone tell me if you actually can make Xanga layouts using Javascript, or let me know of any sites that do, OR if this is even possible?

[The code looked similar to this: document.write('\u3094sfdl\f9o5965') and some more random letters and numbers. Kind of like the ad-remover code, if you've seen it before.]
