So I was talking to Radhika a while ago, and we were talking about cb3 and I told her that I didn't like it that much, but I felt like a bitch for saying that I didn't like it because you guys probably worked hard on it. So as much as I don't like it, thanks for putting the hard work in.

One of the things that came up were the forums. I thought Createblog wanted to get more people to join the forums? But the thing is, do people even know that there are forums? I mean, I was talking to my friend once and I noticed that she had some help with her xanga using Createblog. I ask her if she was a member and she said, "no, i can never be that good" possibly meaning she thinks that you can only join if you were helping others? I explained that I was a member there and that you don't have to know about scripts and stuff, and that you could just go for help and talk in the forums. She was surprised, and didn't even know that there WERE forums.

Everyone's saying how they liked old createblog better, but what was different about old createblog and modern createblog? the layout. I remember when I first joined that there was a banner (especially that cow one and the milkshake) with all the links on the front page. Honestly, I liked that one more because I could just type in Createblog.com and be in the lounge on the second click. But now I have to click on FORUMS and scroll down to go to the community section.

So yeah, just something to think about.

After months and months of coding (actually, more like one week of code and months and months of procrastinating)

I was pretty aware of the forums when I first started. I think that the front page could be a little smoother. But I mean we have to realize that the whole staff can't be working 24/7 and that CB3 isn't done yet (right?)

I just bookmark the forums page so I don't have to search for a link.

Perhaps there should be a bigger importance put on the forums in the front page? Maybe have a section in the page, saying something like "Check out the forums - you can register for free!" or whatever.

I do like the old createBlog better, but that was when we were more spontaneous, less structured. So when times change, the environment has to change, too. I think cB3 is going to benefit the community. =)

Oh yeah! I remember that one! ... when I was under a different username - that was one of the best ones!!

Yeah, I think that the front page could be better - like concise links... the real question should be: Is cB all about the forums, or all about the layouts/graphics? Once that question is answered, the solution should become pretty apparent.

You're right. The old cB was actually better. It feels more ... welcoming and attractive.
