Createblog's Server, specs? |

Does anyone know about the Createblog server?
I know from running a traceroute it is in The Planet's data center... I'm guessing it's on a P4 server, but I'm not sure. This is kind of directed toward Ju-sun...

He has his own server doesn't he? Well if you didn't take into acct the cost of the actual physical server, bandwidth is pretty free it think. All there is is the domain registration, which is pretty much..20 bucks or so.
All outta my ass. ;p |

You are talking about his hosting service... I'm sure the actually server(s) that runs all his websites... is probably give or take $200 a month...
As for bandwidth, I'm sure this site eats a lot of it each month... I wouldn't be surprised if he has an unmetered port... |

I would say about $250 or more. Dedicated Server through the Planet, servers are cheap. Bandwidth is what costs so much. Maybe 2000 gb or less of B/W a month.... That pushing it though, but this site is just a forum, no large Download and such. So yeah, 2000GB - 3000 gb of Tier 1 premium bandwidth a month.
As for unmeterd, I dought that. Too expensive, it would cost $1,000 or more a month for a unmeterd server through The Planet. Plus forums and regular webpages do not use that much B/W a month, so I would say about 2000 - 3000 gb a month. Which he could be on the Server Matrix side of The Planet with a Server Matrix MatriXtreme Unmetered Series. Which they are not truely unmeterd, they are on a 10mb port with 5000-6000 gb limit in and out. Which if you went with a Unmerted 100 mb port you would pay high. Any Unmeterd server that is less then 300 a month has to have a flip side. Such as being on a shared 100 mbit port. If the planet had the server I wanted I would snatch it up as fast as I could, but as of now.... Sold Out! |
