So I get this phone call from this girl who I used to be uber-close with. I stopped talking to her almost three months ago. She's been texting me and poking around here trying to see what I'm up to. I stopped talking to her because she just uses me as a personal therapist and I was tired of hearing all of her crap and then when I would tell her something she'd blow me off. So she had this huge issue with me when I stopped taking her calls every day (I'd take her calls once every three days). She became really upset and so I brought up the fact that she didn't call me for three months when she went to Europe, she became really silent when I brought that up. So after I've nearly forgotten with her she randomly calls me at 10:51 PM and acts completely normal (as if I've been in close contact with her). And she says that if I'm not busy she has lots of stories. I tell her I am. And she acts all hurt and I hang up. I don't really understand why she's so obsessed with me if she thinks I'm not good enough for her and that she could have millions of friends like me. The thing is that I've established that our relationship was over. But there we go, my WTF phone call.

Have you ever had a random phone call from someone and afterwards was like, "WTF?!"

Yeah, once this random stranger called me asking to speak to.. whoever. So i told them they had the wrong number, but they wouldn't stop. They kept being like "come on man, forreal let me talk to _____". I tried to be polite and whatnot, but they just kept repeating that. So I became silent, and he thought I hung up, so then I did hang up. Then he called back, and my grandfather answered it. mellow.gif

^I have seriously had those on my cell phone. It reminds me of another funny story, mind you this happened yesterday.

My grandmother's cellphone was stolen a few months ago. She bought a new one and has a new number now. Her sister, Caroline, decided to call her at midnight because of some trivial family drama that had happened (something at the last get together). But Caroline dialed the old phone number which had been given to someone else. She did this repeatedly until she thought that maybe someone has kidnapped my grandmother (her sister). So she began calling this poor woman and threatening her that if she did anything to her sister she would chop her head off. After certain panic Caroline called my Aunt Juanita (at around 1 AM) and told her what had happened. Thus I know the story.

I worry about my family.

Also, my family have reported hearing clicks on there cell phones and home phones. So have some of my friends in this area. With all this big brother stuff happening, do you sometimes feel someone is listening to your phone conversation?

^ That reminds me. This woman left about 10 voicemails on my cellphone thinking I was her boyfriend and she was calling her boyfriend's phone. So she kept calling saying stuff like "I dont like how you've been acting lately. I see you're getting annoyed, your phone's off..." etc. She kept complaining, and she basically broke up with her boyfriend on my number. o.o

^ HAHAHHAHAHA, I cannot tell you how many times I've gotten people who are high. Also I posted my number on myspace one time for a photoshoot and I started getting all these calls from people who had broke down on the side of the road and needed help O_O. And I got multiple voicemails from some company in California saying that Marcus has liked this guys sign design and that it had gotten a lot of responses and he should call him back... I was like.... wtf?!

hahahah. once this lady kept on calling my house cuz apparently she wouldn't believe me when i told her that she was calling the wrong number. and even if i just hung up on her, she'd still call back. [note, she was taiwanese and talked in taiwanese, which i don't understand]. so i got so fed up that the next time she called, i just said "HELLO" in english really loudly, and then the next thing i know, she hung up. she's never called back.

Oh man, yah plenty of phonecalls that i've been like WTF?

By the way, I had a few friends like that which you described up there.
I def had to drop them, they drove me crazy. Stressed me out. All they talked about was their problems and I had to fix them? It drained me emotionally. I couldn't stand it. And it's not good when your boyfriend is like that too. Seriously best thing to do is just not talk to that person. It makes life a much better place.

So yes, tons of phone calls where i'm like WTF?
A lot of drunk friends call, "I love you! I'm so sorry...blah blah."
lol it's interesting at 3 am.
There was this one time, when this guy I really liked a long time ago, called my cell, and i saw his name appear on my cell and my heart sped up, and right when i was going to answer it, he hung up. And he never called back, and i never called him back. Even though I really wanted to. I was like, "omg brian just called." and yah....
I still wonder if i just should've called him back

I gotten a lot of WTF phone calls.

One time this guy called like in the middle of the night. My mom answer. And what i heard from my mom that he was all like Whats ur name? Tell me ur name!!!!! My mom hanged up. And he called again. I think he was drunk. lol. We changed our phone number becuz of that.

This other time, this dude left a voice mail on my cell phone. It was freaky. I was listening to the voice mail at like 3 in the morning. And it got me scared cuz this guy had a scary voice. But i dont remember what he was talking about. Cuz i got scared and just deleted the voice mail.

Another time these kids kept calling asking 4 this one kid. And when he was going to go to the party. I think it was a prank call. Cuz i could hear the party going on in the background. They called like 3 or 4 times. I told my sis if they called again i would cuss them out. lol. But they stop calling. I was sad. lol.

And like every month. We get this phone call about this one Church. Its a recording. The person whos talking has such a funny voice.

we get phone calls from telemarketers and stuff all the time. caller id does miracles.

i also like to prank people if that counts. i put on this really weird accent, but i cant call anyone i know because theyve all heard it now.

theres also this commercial on tv for some type of free internet that uses "smart dialer" or what not to select the right phone number for your area and there is a phone number they show when scrolling up a list to demonstrate that is from my area, just with a different area code. i called it once and just sat there silently and the guy got pissed as if it had happened before.

i think thats why people get confused because sometimes people have the same number with just a different area code. its kind of weird how it works, so i dont know. what if you lived in a place where someone in one area code had the number 499-4432 and then someone in a different area code had the same number, but you were able to call both without dialing the area code, who would answer?

I was with my girlfriend going to the schoolbus after school, and my friend EG needed to borrow my cellphone. I let her, and told her to hurry because I had to get on the bus. So she started telling someone that she was going to meet him outside of his bus. She hung up and gave me the phone, and I got onto my bus. Then the guy she called called me. He said to tell EG to go to a different bus. I told him that I wasn't with her, I was on a different bus. He said "Well, get off, find her, and tell her!"

I was just like, wtf?, and I hung up.

See I was feeling really bad for her because she moved to Boston with like NO one there. But all she does is call me whine/brag about her life and put me down because I'm in Texas/want to go to a Texan college (can't really afford anything else). Maybe we're talking about the same person ... I wouldn't be surprised.

sort of... a while ago this person kept on calling but there was never an answer when you said 'hello?'. there wasnt even any background noise it was weird.

and once this fireman guy called for some survey thing and he asked if someone 18 or older was home, and there wasn't cuz my parents were going to be gone for 2 days. i told the guy and he's like 'wow your parents let you stay home?' and i was worried cuz it sounded like he was gonna arrest us or something for being underaged and alone...? _unsure.gif lol

i never get telemarketers on my cell phone or my home phone. but on my old cell, i used to get calls from people from different states. maybe the just mixed up the numbers or the order of the number. i also used to get calls in some weird language i've never heard of before...that weird man called me a few times and it scared me pinch.gif

I know how you feel.. when people only call you to talk about their problems. Actually, now it's not as bad anymore, but yea that happened to me before. whistling.gif Actually, the brushing-off thing worked... People change, and I'm glad my friend isn't like that anymore.

But anyways.. wow your "acquaintance" is so self-absorbed. She feels hurt? WTH... She doesn't give you a chance to express how you feel about how she treats you and then she gets emotional? She's definitely one of those blabbermouths that have to tell people every detail about their lives in order to get attention. She's just using you. Just tell her straight out -- you are sick and tired of hearing about her stories. It's better to end it that way because she'll probably get more and more annoying. Or better yet, change you number. laugh.gif haha :P

Wow, thanks throb.gif You know, it's complicated because I seriously cared for her for almost 3 years. I mean it just hurts when you find out that your feelings aren't returned and that you're just being used. I got so used to being a giver that I just, I'm just not myself around anyone anymore. It astonishes me, everyday when I go meet some friends or extensions of the family they tell me how distant I am. And I don't think I'm any different than before until I sit back and look. I'm completely different. Stupid phone. Stupid everything. *becomes emo*
