oh my god I LOVE this book!

I even went as far as to paying for a custom signed copy to be sent to me.

you pay extra to get it customed, but I didn't care.

My favorite character(s) have got to be Bella, because she reminds me of me, Alice, Rosalie and Edward.

I LOVE this book. It's an amazing read. Stephenie Meyer has a way with words. The second book in the trilogy New Moon is coming out soon.

Read it twice actually. And I'm debating a third because New Moon is coming out next month. I'ts probably one of my favorite books if not my all time favorite (it might be a close second)

AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!! *fan girl moment*

THIS IS THE BEST BOOK EVER! It well may be better than Harry Potter (yes, I realize that I blaspheme... XD)!!!!!!!!!

Hmm... my favourite character has to be.... Esme. She's so cool. ^___^

By the way.... guess who e-mailed Stephanie Meyer, and got a reply? That's right. My friend and I. HA HA HA. And we got more than one reply. HA HA HA.

Okies, I'm done gloating. ^___________^

My favorite character was Edward. Yeah, I know, how plain and original I am, right? But I loved his attitude - Mr. Here's-The-Blunt-Truth.
And every girl likes to dream about a guy, right? Make him a vampire, hey. Even better.

Twilight's about a girl, Bella, who moves from Arizona to Forks, Washington (which is a really rainy town) to be with her dad. Once there, Bella goes to school, meets new people, and is even shocked by the beautiful boy, Edward Cullen. Everyone knows better than to try and make a move on Edward, he never showed interest in anyone. Then, he makes eye contact with Bella.
This gesture is surprising. The Cullens are always off in their own world. Then Bella has a class with Edward - in which the only empty seat is next to him. The whole class she notices Edward's hands are balled into a fist and his face is stern. He never once looks at her and when the bell rings, he shoots out of the classroom. Something's strange about him.
Well, they finally get the chance to meet eachother officially.
I won't elaborate any more for fear of ruining it, but I would definitely recommend it.
Before Twilight I had many favorite books - that were constantly changing. Then I read this book February of this year and it's been my one true favorite ever since.

Oh, darn, I didn't see the book sections. Well, it's mainly about vampires, but not the normal vampire stuff. There are no crosses, stakes, and holy water *laughs* And these can go out in the sun. Well, anyway, it's mainly about A girl named isabella swan who moves to Forks, Washington and falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. That's the most straightforward and the shortest, summary I can give you. A lot happens in the books. They're fantastic, my absolute favorites.

I would have agree with everything you said right here. In my mind nobody can top this book. It's going to be the next best thing to the story The Note Book or even Titanic.

Me, I think it would be great if a movie came out but I would have to kick the shit out of someone if it sucked major balls. tongue.gif

You are genius for starting this topic. I love her books like crazy! I do have to agree with you that it sucked Edward wasn't in New Moon much. The time period that he did show up, he was sooo great in it. =D hehe..

I'm quite nervous about the movie coming out, myself. Isn't it supposedly in the works with MTV? *shrugs* I just heard that Stephenie want Henry Cavill to play Edward, and he's hot. =P haha..

I've read both.
I think the plot is very well thought out, compared to most Teenage-Vampire books.

I love what happens to Edward when he steps into the sunlight.

& Bell really doesnt give herself enough credit.

I cannot decide who I prefer her with.
Probably Edward.

It's sad, because I only know a few guys to have read these books.
>_<;;

Most of the people I know who have read these are teenage girls.
Which is to be expected, considering these are written for that genre of people.
Not that I'm saying other types of people can't or don't read these type of books.

[[Take me for example]].

OH YEAH I've read it. And so have all of my friends. In fact, they're the ones that got me into it. I refused to read it at first (upon seeing how obsessed my friends were), but I received both Twilight and New Moon as birthday gifts, so I felt obliged. Anyways, my friend got my books signed by Stephenie Meyer! That was pretty tight.

Ahh, summary:
As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?

I'm so freaking psyched for this book. I preordered two. One from Barnes&Noble and one from Waldenbooks. Hahaha.

I wonder what Edward and the rest of the vampires will look like in the movie, since I've yet to be "stunned" by any sort of celebrity.

^ to answer your question, Stephenie Meyer talks about casting on her site.

http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/twilight_movie.html

Of course her choices aren't necessarily going to be used for the movie. I'm sure the crew will ultimately decide.

I've seen that...

Jackson Rathbone would make a really cute Edward (or at least from what I can tell on the picture, which isn't much), but I don't know if that's the vibe she's looking for.

Eh...Jackson Rathbone looks way too young/childish/boyish to be Edward. I personally agree with Meyer's choice. Henry Cavill would make a wonderful Edward.

^I wouldn't know, I've never seen Henry Cavill in action.

I don't think her pick for Carlisle could pass for 33 or late twenties..

Love this book! Just got New Moon a few days ago from a friend. The relationship between Bella and Edward was better in the first book. ermm.gif Now, I just feel like punching them all in the face. rolleyes.gif Still loving it, though.

I think we should make a 'WE LOVE EDWARD CULLEN' group since he is the most charming vampire I have ever encountered.

I went out and bought it at Wal*Mart yesterday. Started reading it at 8pm and finished it at 4am. And all I have to say is:
EDWARD CULLEN. <333

Who I'm seeing when I picture the characters.

Gaspard Ulliel as Edward Cullen:

(Seriously, PERFECT. I saw Henry Cavill in Tristan + Isolde and he could probably cut it as Edward but Gaspard is the epitome of Edward.)

Camilla Belle as Bella Swan:

Steven Strait as Jacob Black:

(I definitely agree with the author on this one.)

Laura Ramsey as Rosalie Cullen:

Nora Zehetner as Alice Cullen:

(I'd rather have her than Rachael Leigh Cook.)

Trent Fordas Jasper Hale:

Taylor Kitsch as Emmett Cullen:

Cillian Murphy as Carlisle Cullen:

(I think he's better suited as Carlisle than James.)

Lena Headey as Esme Cullen:

That's all I have so far.

ETA: I change my mind with Jasper. Trent Ford isn't Jasper, CHACE CRAWFORD IS:

I hope they do make a movie out of Twilight.

Ugh. As exciting as that probably is, I really hope they don't, because I'm sure the casting will be HORRIBLE and they'll completely RUIN the book for me, just like almost every single other movie made from amazing books.

Aaaand...

For any of you losers who read Twilight fanfiction, go to:

http://awards.volturi.org - or - http://awards.volturi.org/index2.htm

It's an awards site for fanfiction. Yes, I'm an obsessed fangirl, what can I say?

400 pages may seem like a lot, but the font is pretty big. It took me 8 hours each for Twilight and New Moon.

i JUST got my hands on this book friday night. ive been meaning to buy it since forever, but i never had time and i did! and ive been reading it for a few hours so far and i am more than halfway done. edward is stunning. just the thought of him to be real would make me scream like a sicko. x'D

i've always loved stories about vampires, and i gotta say, this probably tops them all. >.< maybe because i've only read a few novels on it but still, it tops them alllll, including movies. x)

I cannot, CANNOT wait for Eclipse to come out.
Stephenie Meyer succeeded in making her characters so realistic that I feel like I was the one who fell in love with Edward!!!

You'll probably end up doing that after all, since movie adaptations never live up to the books. =/

I think that's why I'm a bit scared to see the movies.
I mean, I really want to because I would be able to see everything that was in my head actually come to life, but I hope they don't change the story too much.
Is it just me, or is it hard for you to imagine what Edward and Bella look like clearly? Of course there's a description, but I could never get a really clear image of their faces.

haha...I read a post I made in this thread a while back, and it's so funny how I thought I wouldn't like this book.

I went on her website to figure if the movie was actually going to happen and found this:

QUOTE
**July 7, 2007 Update**

I am very excited to announce that Twilight has been optioned by Summit Entertainment (http://www.summit-ent.com/). The deal with MTV Film (and friends) lapsed in April, and since that time my agents and I have been negotiating with Summit on a great contract that I think will really protect the story. The people at Summit seem quite enthusiastic about doing Twilight the right way, and I'm looking forward to working with them. The story will be optioned for the next fifteen months, when Summit will have the opportunity to buy the property. I will keep you updated on any developments as soon as I find out about them.

If you want to read more and see who she personally thinks the actors should be, you can go to her website here
