Everyone's made different forums within CB, so they all get moved from the lounge.

I'd like to see mods accept responsibility for their actions. The site is running well, and they all are doing a pretty decent job with catering to the needs of the community, however, the morale of this entire community reminds me of high school. For them to be respected the way moderators should be, and for community to be a place where everyone generally gets along with one another, the personal bullshit needs to come to an end. Be professional.

This site keeps growing and growing and growing. With topics becoming more and more diverse, its understandable that people will feel as though they all need a proper place. That's fine. But I understand that running a forum costs money and using more space costs money. Then again, I like the random, off the wall, conversation topics that used to take up The Lounge.

However, if more subforums are going to be created, then 'Entertainment' needs work. Movies/Music/Books/Misc

I really feel that the newspaper should be given another shot. There are some really outspoken members in this community that can contribute by writing in depth, interesting and thought provoking articles to inform and entertain the entire community. Its great discussing a given event, and its fun talking about last night's sports game, but wouldn't it be better if there was a livlier recap of it all?

"Man, the game last night was ill. Kobe had like, 80 somethin' points."
How about a game summary and analysis?

Skins. The babyblue and white is pretty bland.

All for now.

I remember those days. An oldie like me...wow. Haha.

I'm happy to hear about a cB3, and yet, a bit sad. This place has blown up so much, though. Of course it's going to change again.

Yeah. It's like Xanga forced everyone to learn web designing skills, since everyone wanted to customized their Xanga page. Once everyone learned the basics, they moved on to bigger and better things.

not my fault...

i think teen blogs are just being abandoned and such. people get bored of reading about what other people's days were like.

me? i'd like to see cB have either a webcomic, or a blog.

you know, something to read when it's getting a bit slow.

I think people find the established communities to be the typical scene while they want to be unique with their own domain and blog. It's how i felt back then.

word.

i really think that the entertainment forum needs to be divided into

- Music
- The Big Screen (TVs and Movies)
- Misc

and all the interest subforums is NOT a good thing. especially "current events".. i see no reason why current events needs to be seperated from lounge... yall complain that the interests forum is dead, yet you add more and more forums to it..

hmm whats so great about myspace? i still dont have one and dont particularly understand whats the big craze about it. same with facebook.

also, why does one need a myspace + facebook? dont they serve the same purpose. perhaps its because they target different people?

i think if myspace was good enough, people wouldnt migrate to facebook once they hit college. the only reason people do today is because myspace.. well, needs a lot of work.

maybe i cant start a social networking site. wooo hooo! haha.

Yeah, it's spread us out a bit more, but it's also more organized. That's a plus.

The lounge is, and will remain, where we all congregate in randomness. It's our gathering place.

Xanga's still really big around here.

I love the huge community thing, though. I've been offered subdomains before but I've turned them down because I didn't want to become restricted by the host's requirements or leave my Xanga friends behind.

eProps are just more satisfying than comments, is all.

I feel Xanga is starting to die out. For the techno-smarts they will run off to wordpress and such. As with the others they seem to move off to Facebook or MySpace.
I have no idea about Tagworld...what is that? It shows on cB's adsense =P

But facebook doesn't offer a blog...

hmm whats so great about myspace? i still dont have one and dont particularly understand whats the big craze about it. same with facebook.

also, why does one need a myspace + facebook? dont they serve the same purpose. perhaps its because they target different people?

i think if myspace was good enough, people wouldnt migrate to facebook once they hit college. the only reason people do today is because myspace.. well, needs a lot of work.

maybe i cant start a social networking site. wooo hooo! haha.

MySpace became great once I got into music. It was meant as a networking tool, and professional, it works like a charm.

I've met more people at UTSA through Facebook than in face-to-face, chance encounters.

I don't like meeting new people on Myspace. In fact, I don't really like Myspace anymore. I love my Facebook. As my friend said - "Keeps the trash out." I wouldn't quite word it that way, but it's true, for the most part.

Yeah, it's spread us out a bit more, but it's also more organized. That's a plus.

The lounge is, and will remain, where we all congregate in randomness. It's our gathering place.

I think people want to see change so much because it's a bit slow so they push for all these subforums. It's distressing to people just starting out who get lost.

I'm quite fond of Facebook, when i use my friend's acct (im still in highschool..and hs Facebook isn't hot) it seems it's the best networking tool for college people. It really does seem to connect everyone. All your text and picture..pretty much anything you upload or type on Facebook is hyperlinked to other people and networks.

I'm not fond of Myspace, so yea...but i think it's so big I'm gonna join it anyways now.

i have an idea:

take the newspaper

and instead of have the articles published in issues all together, have them published in "blogs".

i think it'd be pretty interesting. i mean, the stuff in the newspaper was pretty good and would make excellent blog posts.

look

cars, food, current events, humor, health

in my opinion, those (just like forum member Rico) dont need to exist.. there are not enough posts in food and cars to flood the lounge. current events was doing fine in the lounge. humor should become a thread in games, or even a sub-forum called "spam", which would operate similar to forum games. health could just be deleted or make the posts go into boys or girls locker

That's excatly what I was thinking. I've noticed that not a lot of people post on there. Once EVERYTHING falls under a category, it takes away from other forums (like the lounge).

This community is great when things are going smoothly (socially). But when it's not, you see the ugly come out of people.

The networking idea will get members to meet new members. And as this happens, it broadens each individual's social circle. Facebook being my prime example still.

I've met people on here that would make lifelong friends (and then some). I think everyone should have a shot at that.

*

thank you for such a thoughful response. the majority of the people here are either in middle or high school, and such, i think its appropriate that the site has a highschool feel. but i do understand where youre coming from. some of the older createblog members may find them themselves unable to associate with the site because of this very reason. maybe we ought to organize the forum by age group, rather than by general topics like we have currently. or add a new catagory with a middle school / high school / college peeps / working peeps forum.

in any case, i agree with you that the forum needs work in a lot of aspects. but i like to think its just the growing pains of cb. in time, everything will be ironed out. i promise you!

oh- idea!

people are moving to independent blogs and such because they give more flexibility of design and stuff.

but they do lose the community, the blogrings, the charts.

what is cB could do this? create a community for blogs, where you could have a community with your new independent blog?

of course, allow regular xanga, etc. blogs to join in on these "cb blogrings"

and it would be nice if you could subscribe to blogs in many comunities.

so you could read bloggers, xangas, myspaces, etc. all from one subscription page.

mm yes...

so don't include website 'rankings', include 'top picks'

basically, if it were possible to have rankings, don't post them, but have someone go through them and pick out the ones they like.

so you could have something like "micron's picks" or something.

so, jockying for more views won't get you anywhere if your posts are crap anyways.

so look

i know a couple of people here post on this forum called niketalk (sup wayne, jonn, stephanie, angela).. it got about the same number of people as CB, but it looks much more active. why? because it only got three forums in its "community center".. General, Sports/Training, and Music..

this site niketalk, has a competitor called ISS. ISS got about 1/5th of the active participants niketalk has. why? because ISS got like a million forums. theres one called the "poll forum", one called the "flamethrower forum (where you post jokes), etc

createblog is turning into ISS.. as i said before we need to get rid of most of those forums in interests.. only forums i think are necesary in interests are Debate, Writing, Fashion, Sports, Technology.. everything else is just excessive

CREATEBLOG NEEDS TO GO ON THE LINDSEY LOHAN DIET. lets lose some forums!
