It's not quite over yet, but performance of the night goes to Kanye West. Off the motherfreakin' hook! He did the damn thing.

But yo...how did Green Day get Record of the Year? And how did U2 get Song of the Year?

Yes sir, Kanye and Jamie took the icing off the cake with the band gig and that band set it off.

I guess you could see that Green Day thing coming. They're big. You've got millions of pre-teens/teens listening to them. It was a bit inevitable.

I only caught part of it, but yes John Legend is amazing.

and I'm not suprised about Green Day. They are so popular now, it's almost making them unpopular if you know what i mean.

Well, I was really only looking forward to seeing the results from one category, and that would be "Best Metal Performance." Slipknot's "Before I Forget" won that award, so I'm very happy about that.

The only reason I was disappointed was because they never show the hard rock and metal awards being given out. They pretty much focus on pop and rap, which gets old year after year.

Weirdest moment of the night has to go to the Jay-Z/Linkin Park/Paul McCartney performance. They...damn...it was an inspirational moment, but a little sad all the same.

Speaking of Paul McCartney, I almost screamed when he played "Helter Skelter." Dude is like...70 and he still has it. So great.

And U2. There's no way in hell How to Dismantle and Atomic Bomb was better than both Paul McCartney's Chaos... and Kanyeezy's Late Registration. Paul and Kanye were robbed.

I loved Kanye and Jamies performance, I have to emphasize that again.

Jay-Z's/Linkin Park's perfomance with Paul McCartney shocked me but it was great.

I also enjoyed Chrstina Agilera's performance with jazz pianist Herbie Hancock.

Herbie Hancock is the truth. Her performance with him made me like her a hell of a lot more. Especially since Herbie's entering the winter of his life.

Glad that I'm not the only person to notice that. Greenday's album was aight, but it wasn't all that.

Personally, I thought Green Day's album was just as good as Kanye's. But if I were to decide it, Kanye would get it, IMO.

Major corporations wet themselves over U2's music.

Case in point; Pepsi.

They're internationally known and respect and their album was pretty decent. That's how they won.

Hmm, the performance by Kanye and Jamie was nice, but I don't know if I was totally feeling the band outfits, but still :)
Happy for John Legend throb.gif And glad Mariah snagged a few =]

The only reason Greenday won was because of the "trend" to be oh so in love with them.

Kanye Should won all 8 of his nominations. But did you see that Boy? He is soo cool, I'm glad he left with three. Anyways only two words for Mariah Carey "UP YOURS!" John Legend was really unexpected but he's still good all the same. The Grammys was raw this year,,,,

Agreed. I've been mulling this over with a friend of mine who is a major fan of U2. Even he thought that was weird. I didn't watch the Grammys, but I've read the winners list.

I'm pretty much cool with the awardees - but I can't for the life of me understand (other than for reasons Brandon stated) why U2 won so many awards. This was by far not their best album, in fact, it's probably my least favorite.

I don't know, it's a little unsettling.

KanYe KanYe KanYe... AH GREATEST PERFORMANCE! He is so entertaining. Uh, and I love how he had his head in his hands when they were announcing Album of the Year.

I loved the Jay-Z/Linkin Park/Paul McCartney mash-up, too. Hmm, and Keith Urban even though I'm not a fan of him at all. Christina was on point as always. OH, and I'm so proud of Kelly Clarkson. She really wasn't expecting anything.

EDIT!

I forgot Madonna! She has an amazing body. And John Legend is sooooo good. And I actually liked Mariah's performace, for once.

^ Yeah, Mariah was pretty good. Too bad her stylist still can't pick out a flattering dress. Remember that monstrosity at the BET Awards?

*shudders*

Mariah Carey's voice is damaged.

But thanks to plenty of cash and a natural bubble-butt, her looks aren't.

If that's true, then why can't her stylist pick out a decent dress, you know, one that doesn't make her look like a whale? huh.gif

Okay, a whale is being mean, but you get the idea.

Killers or White Stripes should have won, not Maroon 5.
Fiona Apple should have won, not Kelly Clarkson.
I'm not disappointed about Chemical Brothers and I would have also been happy with LCD Soundsystem or New Order.
Franz Ferdinand should have won, not U2.
I would have been happy with almost all of the nominees for Best Hard Rock Performance.
Speed of Sound should have won, not City of Blinding Lights.
Coldplay should have won, not U2.
Lewis Black should have won comedy.
SPAMALOT WON f**k YEA. I'm going to see that for my birthday. :D
I think The Arcade Fire should have won; that would have been amazing.
Neptunes should've won.

No opinion on anything else.

Green Day!!!!!

<3

I missed the grammys because i'm so
slow and not up with checking the t.v guide
If Green Day didn't deserve Record of
The year then they wouldn't have recieved it.
The news in New Zealand annouced that U2 won
Record of the year
I nearly rang up to complain but i saved myself
o_o
